Lacrosse Drops Conference Match at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. –  The Presbyterian College lacrosse team fell in Big South action on Saturday to High Point by the score of 19-4 at Vert Stadium. Abby Edmisten scored a pair of goals while Madison Foti and Nya Bettis each added goals for the Blue Hose in the defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
High Point jumped out on the Blue Hose pushing across the game's first seven goals to take a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter.
 
The Panthers tallied the first goal of the second to push the lead out to 8-0. With 10:35 to play in the second quarter, Edmisten connected on a free position goal to get PC on the board and make it 8-1. The hosts closed the quarter off with four straight goals down the stretch to take a 12-1 lead to the half on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts recorded four goals in the third quarter to push the High Point lead out to 16-1 with 4:12 to play in the third quarter. PC had freshman Nya Bettis record her seventh goal of the season with 3:07 to play to make it 16-2 Panthers.
 
The Panthers pushed the advantage out to 19-2 with the first three goals of the fourth quarter before Madison Foti tallied her first goal of the season with 5:32 to play in the game to make it 19-3 for the hosts. Edmisten added her second goal of the game with 1:17 to play to push it to a 19-4 final result.

NOTABLES
  • Edmisten led the Blue Hose offensively with her seventh multi-goal game of the season. She scored a free position goal in the second quarter and added one more goal in the fourth.
  • Bettis tallied her seventh goal of the season for PC as Madison Foti scored her first goal of the 2022 season.
  • Presbyterian took nine shots in the game. Edmisten led the way with five of those shots.
  • Heidi Shafer had nine saves in the contest for Presbyterian.
  • Ava Ward led the team with five draw controls.
