BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team was unable to pick up a win on Friday night as they dropped a four-setter to Campbell 3-1 (13-25, 14-25, 25-23, 17-25) at Gore Arena in Big South action. Junior Kasey Battle along with sophomore Rylee Moorhead led the offense with 10 kills apiece in the contest.

How it Happened
- Campbell jumped out to the early advantage with the first 10 points to get the early lead on the Blue Hose on Friday night. The hosts pushed the lead to 13-2 before PC called its first timeout of the set. PC cut the deficit to nine, 16-7 before Campbell quickly responded with a 6-2 burst to push it to 22-9 en route to a 25-13 set one victory for the hosts.
- The hosts raced out to a 5-2 lead in set two carrying their momentum from the opening stanza. PC tied it at six with four of the next five points before Campbell rattled off a 10-1 burst to take a 16-7 lead and force the Blue Hose to take a timeout. PC cut the Fighting Camels lead to seven, 18-11 before a 7-3 burst from the hosts gave them a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Campbell pushed ahead quickly in set three with a 9-4 advantage over the Blue Hose to get the early lead in the set. The Blue Hose answered with an 11-1 run to take a 15-10 lead and force Campbell to call a timeout. Campbell pushed back with a 7-3 burst to cut the deficit to one, 18-17. The Fighting Camels kept pushing back at PC with runs capped by a 5-1 run to give the hosts a 22-21 lead before the Blue Hose scored four of the final five points to take set three 25-23.
- Both teams traded runs in the early going of set four before the hosts pulled away to a 12-9 lead forcing PC to call its first timeout. The Fighting Camels pushed the lead to 16-12 before a 4-0 burst from the Blue Hose tied the set at 16 and led Campbell to take its first timeout. Campbell responded on a 9-1 burst to finish off the match in four sets on Friday night.
Notables
- With her team-high 16 digs on Friday, junior Anna Hewitt moved into eighth place in the Blue Hose DI record book for digs in a career. Hewitt has now tallied 929 digs in her time with the Blue Hose.
- Battle totaled 10+ kills on Friday for the second time in three Big South matches in 2022 for the Blue Hose. She added three digs and a block in the match.
- She has tallied 29 kills in three league matches which is one off the team-high held by Moorhead with 30.
- Moorhead recorded her sixth match in 2022 with 10+ kills as the Anderson, S.C. native added three digs to her stat line as well.
- Freshman Anna Baranski tallied her fifth double-double of the season as she had 23 assists and 10 digs along with a pair of kills and an ace.
