ATLANTA, Ga. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-4) lost in two tightly contested road matches at ACC foe Georgia Tech (3-0). The Blue Hose lost in dramatic fashion, 4-3, in the first match. Then, PC captured the doubles point but the Blue Hose came up short in a 4-1 loss in the second match.
DOUBLES
In the first match, Georgia Tech posted wins at number one and three doubles to capture the doubles point.
In the second match, the Blue Hose won the doubles point. At number three doubles, Presbyterian's
Pedro Cardoso and
Austin Skoog tallied a 6-4 win. At number one doubles, Georgia Tech won to even the doubles matches at one win apiece. PC captured the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-1) win at number two doubles by
Teo Cariov and
David Mamalat.
SINGLES
In the first match, Georgia Tech took a 2-0 lead with a win at number three singles. At number one singles, Presbyterian's
Dusan Milanovic, who is ranked No. 63 in the ITA singles rankings, defeated Georgia Tech's Andres Martin, who is ranked No. 72 in the ITA rankings, 6-4, 6-4, to cut Georgia Tech's lead in half. Martin was ranked as high as No. 12 in the ITA rankings last year and is currently ranked 578 in the ATP. At two singles, Presbyterian tied the score at two after
Max Benson recorded a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win over Georgia Tech's Keshav Chopra. Georgia Tech regained the lead with a win at number six singles. At number four singles the Blue Hose tied the score at three after
Javier Matos's 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Georgia Tech's Rohan Sachdev. Georgia Tech outlasted the Blue Hose with a dramatic three sets, 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 (7-1) win by Elias Shokry over PC's
Loup Alleno.
In the second match, Georgia Tech tallied wins at number one, two, three, and four singles to close out the 4-1 win.
