HOME OPENER – With the 100-58 win over CIU, Presbyterian moved to 15-1 in their home opening game while a member of Division I
PRESBYTERIAN COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
WINNING SEASON OPENER – With the 68-62 win over Vanderbilt, the Blue Hose have now won their season-opening game for the second straight season and for the fourth time in Presbyterian's Division I era. The Blue Hose won their season-opening game in the 2011-12, 2016-17, 2022-23, and 2023-24 seasons.
POWER FIVE WINS - Presbyterian began the season with a 68-62 win over SEC foe Vanderbilt on the road (November 7). This marks the third time in the program's history that Presbyterian has defeated a Power Five team. In the 2010-11 season, Presbyterian defeated Auburn (December 18), 62-59, and Wake Forest (December 21), 66-64. In the 2011-12 season, Presbyterian defeated Cincinnati (November 19), 56-54, on the road. Cincinnati is now a member of the Big 12 but when the Blue Hose defeated them in the 2011-12 season, the Bearcats were not a member of a Power Five league.
ITALY TRIP – This summer, Presbyterian took a nine-day trip to Italy, August 1-9,. The Blue Hose visited Rome, Florence, and Milan while playing a couple of exhibition games. While today was the first official practice for the 2023-24 season, in preparation for the trip to Italy, Presbyterian was allowed to have 10 full-team practices leading up to the team's departure.
