CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer program just increased its roster size by a quartet on Wednesday afternoon, as interim head coach
Tanner Osborne solidified four new players to the Blue Hose family as part of Signing Day for the class of 2024.
Evyn Johnson, Harlan Lyons, Cassidy Oldham, and Allie Williams hopped on the PC train for the next campaign, what will be the 18
th in the school's NCAA Division I history.
"It is an exciting day to finally be able to add Harlan, Cassidy, Evyn, and Allie to our family", reflected Osborne, who was granted the interim title in the wake of
Brian Purcell's retirement last week. Having been with the program as an assistant over the past eight years, he continued "Each of our signees are first and foremost high-character individuals that are very mature, respectful and respected, and beloved by many for who they are as young adults".
"The four of them provide a lot of stability, versatility, and flair as players. They each bring their own great strengths and abilities but most importantly mentalities that we are excited to add into a returning group that is hungry and ready to continue to grow".
Evyn Johnson
5'8" | Defender
Clinton High School | Clinton, N.C.
An exemplary performer for a North Carolina high school with an identical town name, Johnson brings an elite amateur background to Presbyterian in that she anchored a prep squad that went 62-7-2 over her four-year stint competing with the Dark Horses. During her time there, CHS earned a victory in 31 out of 32 conference matchups, advancing to the 2A state final four in each of the last three years. Scoring 18 goals while adding 13 more assists, Johnson was an All-Region selection in 2022 and '23 while leading her unit in minutes played, participating in club action with the Wilmington Hammerheads.
Evyn plans on majoring in Elementary Education once arriving at PC. She is the daughter of Wesley and Kimberly Johnson.
Harlan Lyons
5'8" | Forward / Defender
A.C. Flora High School | Columbia, S.C.
Collecting an All-State accolade this year across the Palmetto area thanks to 37 strikes and 20 assists as well as two region trophies in a row, Lyons inks a deal with the Blue Hose after spending time with SC United FC in club ball. While competing for the Falcons over her prep stint, she was a four-year starter and team MVP over her junior campaign. Altogether, she achieved five postseason accolades on her way to an eventual landing spot in Clinton at the next level.
Behind a stellar 5.268 GPA, Harland served on the National Art Honor Society while being the Vice President of the NHS' Spanish wing. She aims to major in Biology once officially becoming a Blue Hose in August, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Lyons.
Cassidy Oldham
5'2" | Defender / Midfielder
South Brunswick High School | Southport, N.C.
The second signee out of a trio in the '24 class to hail from the Tar Heel State, Oldham was a two-time captain for South Brunswick HS while remaining in the starting lineup from beginning to end. As a member of the Cougars, she gained Freshman of the Year status before going on claim an All-Conference First Team nod this season. The squad's team MVP for back-to-back years, Oldham lined up with the Wilmington Hammerheads in a club setting (alongside Johnson).
Another National Honor Society mainstay, Cassidy intends to major in either Mathematics or Biology when enrolling for Presbyterian. She is the daughter of Doug and Gina Oldham.
Allie Williams
5'1" | Forward / Midfielder
Veritas Scholars Academy | Oak Ridge, N.C.
The honors kept piling up for Williams throughout her pre-college career in Oak Ridge, the second-ranked player in the region and #50 player in the nation at the time of her exit at Veritas Scholars Academy. After producing 43 goals and 12 assists as a sophomore and junior, she gained All-Conference and All-Tournament credit while balancing club duties with FC Malaga City.
Allie plans on submitting a Business major to Presbyterian next fall, the daughter of Dion and Susan Williams.
