CARY, N.C. – Behind 11 hits and solid pitching from a pair of newcomers to the Blue Hose, the Presbyterian College baseball team got into the win column on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over Georgetown at the USA Baseball Complex. Chase Hughes led the Blue Hose with three hits, and Fenix DiGiacomo tossed 5.2 innings allowing one earned run to earn the victory, before Luke Gibson pitched the final 3.1 innings allowing one earned run for the save.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- PC got the scoring going in the third inning with an RBI single off of the bat of Trey Fenderson before a Hoyas wild pitch pushed the lead to 2-0.
- The Blue Hose capped the inning with an RBI single off the bat of Joel Dragoo to push the lead to 3-0 after 2.5 innings.
- Georgetown pushed across its first run of the game in the fourth with a solo home run to right field to cut the PC lead to 3-1.
- In the seventh, PC scratched across a run on a bases-loaded walk to Jake Randolph that extended the Blue Hose lead to 4-1.
- The Hoyas connected on their second solo home run of the afternoon in their half of the seventh, cutting the deficit to two, 4-2.
- PC tacked on a run in the ninth with an RBI single from Kyle Decker as Presbyterian picked up the 5-2 win over the Hoyas on Saturday afternoon.
