CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team converted over 75% of its fourth quarter field goals to pull away with a 77-64 victory over Longwood on Wednesday night inside the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose connected on 10-of-13 field goals in the final frame to secure the 13-point win. PC had five players in double figures, led by freshman Tilda Sjökvist and Ashley Carrillo with 15 points apiece.

Scoring the Game
- Longwood connected on a three before Kierscht and Sjökvist each connected on a triple to push PC ahead 6-3 at the 8:37 mark of the opening frame. The Lancers rattled off the following four points before a 5-0 PC burst made it 11-7. The Lancers connected a quick triple before each team nailed a two-pointer to make it 13-12 PC at the 3:41 mark leading to the media break. PC used the three-pointer down the stretch with a 9-4 burst behind three triples to take a 22-16 lead after one.
- The Lancers began the second quarter on a 7-0 burst to take a 23-22 lead with 6:23 to play in the first half forcing a PC timeout. The two teams traded threes before a 7-3 burst, giving the Lancers a 33-28 lead with 3:58 to play in the first half. A quick 4-0 Blue Hose burst cut the deficit to one, 33-32, before a 5-2 burst from the Lancers gave the guests a 38-34 halftime lead.
- We began the quarter on a 5-2 run to cut the deficit to one, 40-39, before a Lancers jumper made it 42-39 with 7:46 to play in the quarter. PC went on the offensive with a 10-0 run to take a 49-42 lead with 5:17 to play in the quarter. The Lancers answered down the stretch with a 7-2 run to cut it to 51-49 heading to the fourth quarter.
- The Lancers opened the fourth on an 8-4 run to jump in front 57-55 with 7:15 to play in the final 10 minutes. PC answered in a big way with a 10-1 burst over the next three minutes to jump in front 65-58 with 4:11 to play. Longwood answered with a quick three before Presbyterian answered the Lancers again with an 8-0 burst to push to a 73-61 advantage. Longwood would bury a three-pointer, but four late free throws propelled PC to the 77-64 victory over the Lancers.

- Sjökvist and Carrillo led the Blue Hose with 15 points on Wednesday night as Sjökvist went 5-of-11 from the field, adding three triples with four assists and three steals. Carrillo finished with a career-high 15 points shooting 6-of-8 from the field and adding three helpers. Núria Cunill added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds in the contest, while Christina Kline totaled 12 points, making four triples and pulling down seven rebounds for the Blue Hose. Aubrie Kierscht rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points making three triples and pulling down five rebounds. Mara Neira led the Blue Hose with five assists and added six rebounds. Adriana Shipp led the Lancers with 24 points as she connected on six threes to lead all scorers in the contest. Anne-Hamilton Leroy tallied 18 points and pulled six rebounds to pace the Lancers. Chardonnay Hartley finished with 10 points. Bailey Williams totaled nine assists to lead Longwood.

- PC posted a 50% (30-of-60) performance from the field on Wednesday and limited Longwood to 38.5% (25-of-65) shooting. Presbyterian connected on 11 threes compared to nine from the Lancers. The Blue Hose went 6-of-10 at the foul line as the guests were 5-of-8. PC had a decisive advantage on the glass at 45-25, including eight offensives to the Lancers two. PC had 17 assists compared to 15 from Longwood. Longwood had a 10-6 edge in steals. The Blue Hose held a solid 36-22 lead in points in the paint.
Notables
- Carrillo had her best game as a Blue Hose on Wednesday, totaling a career-high 15 points connecting on six field goals which also marks a career-high to help pace PC.
- Sjökvist finished her 10th double-figure scoring output with 15 points as she made three three-pointers in the win. She's had 10+ points in seven league games this season.
- Cunill did it on both ends for PC with 12 points for her third double-figure scoring performance of the season and also pulling down eight rebounds. Cunill's eight rebounds are the most she's had in a game since her career-high 13 vs. UNC Asheville on Jan. 25.
- Kline set a new career-high on Wednesday, connecting on four triples and tying a career-high with seven rebounds.
- Kierscht tallied her third 10+ point performance in the last four and her 11th of the season with her 10 points. She's eclipsed 10 points in nine league games this season.
- As a team, PC finished with 11 threes and 17 assists. Both marks are the most in a game since the Blue Hose finished with 12 threes and 20 helpers against USC Upstate on Jan. 18.
- PC finished the game shooting 76.9% (10-of-13) in the fourth quarter marking the best fourth-quarter shooting percentage the Blue Hose have had in a game this season. In the final quarter, the Blue Hose were led by Carrillo, who scored nine of her 15 points.
- With her four assists on Wednesday, Sjökvist moved into a tie for eighth in the Blue Hose single-season DI record book for assists with 92 on the season.
- Bryanna Brady moved to seventh in the single-season record book with 133 field goals made thus far in the 2022-23 season.
- Kierscht moved into 10th in the single-season record book on Wednesday with 52 threes on the season.
