Presbyterian Drops Home Match to UNCW

CLINTON, S.C... –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision on Thursday morning to the visiting UNCW at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a tough one today as its a credit to UNCW as they played very well. Our team is fighting hard and we have a resilient bunch so I know we will be ready for the weekend." 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Seahawks got the early advantage with a 6-0 win at the top spot to clinch the doubles point as the guests earned the doubles point early at No.3 spot.
- Davis along with Madison Dennett picked up their first win of the season as a doubles pair with a 6-3 win at the two spot after UNCW clinched the doubles point.
- UNCW pushed the edge to 3-0 with wins at the No. 5 and 6 positions in the singles lineup on Thursday before a straight-set victory at No.3 singles gave the Seahawks Thursday's decision.
- The guests added a straight-set decision at No. 1 and 4 singles to push the edge to 6-0.
- The Seahawks needed a third set tiebreak to earn the win at the No. 2 spot as the guests finished off a 7-0 result on Thursday over the Blue Hose.

- PC continues a busy stretch of action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. first serve against Eastern Kentucky in Chattanooga. The weekend wraps up with a 9 a.m. start against the Mocs from Chattanooga.
