Women's Tennis Hosts Campbell on Saturday Morning

Match Moved up to Saturday Due to Weather

CLINTON, S.C. – Coming off of a thrilling 4-3 win on Tuesday, the Presbyterian College women's tennis team continues league play on Saturday with a 10 a.m. start against Campbell from the Templeton Tennis Courts. The match has been moved up from Sunday due to expected inclement weather in Clinton on Sunday afternoon.

"We're excited for another conference match against Campbell. Last year was a battle so I expect nothing less tomorrow."

SCOUTING CAMPBELL
- Campbell enters Saturday's match at 3-7 following a 5-2 setback on Thursday against Gardner-Webb. The Fighting Camels have dropped their past four matches entering play on Saturday.
- In singles play, Mialy Ranaivo and Abbie Tyler lead the way with four wins apiece on the season for Campbell.
- Lena Karlovcan leads Campbell in doubles with three wins paired with three different partners this season.
- Campbell holds a 9-1 edge over the Blue Hose in the head-to-head series with the Fighting Camels winning by the score of 6-1. PC holds a 1-4 record against Campbell in the series when the two schools meet in Clinton.

LAST TIME OUT
-  The Presbyterian College women's tennis fought back on Tuesday from down 3-0 to earn a 4-3 victory over the host Gardner-Webb at the Webb Tennis Complex to begin Big South play.

NEWCOMERS
- Presbyterian returns four players from last season's team while adding a trio of new faces to the squad for the 2022-23 season.
- Fourth-year head coach Joel Roberts welcomes back junior Lucianna Piedra (Mexico City, Mexico), sophomore Madison Dennett (Palm City, Fla.), Valentina De Sousa (Caracas, Venezuela), and Claudia Sanchez (Betera, Valencia, Spain).
- Roberts also welcomes Varvara Nikolaeva (Suffolk, Va.) along with McKenzie Davis (Florence, S.C.) and Claire Giddings (Milton, Ga.) as the three freshmen to the roster for the 22-23 season.

SPRING SLATE
- Head Coach Joel Roberts 2023 spring slate features 20 matches, including 14 in the non-conference, beginning with the weekend's matches at Lander and Clemson.
- 12 of the 14 non-conference matches occur against teams who tallied 10+ wins during the 2022 season, highlighted by three with 19 wins last year. The three teams to total 19 victories were the College of Charleston, Charlotte, and Long Island.
- In conference play, PC hosts Campbell, UNC Asheville, and Radford, with trips to Gardner-Webb, Longwood, and Charleston Southern on tap this spring.
