HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team got out to an early lead once again on Saturday and withstood a late rally from High Point to clinch a series win with an 8-7 victory Saturday night at Williard Stadium. In the victory, Brody Fahr and Ryan Ouzts both connected on homers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- High Point opened the scoring on Saturday with a solo homer to get the early advantage in the contest.
- The Blue Hose answered the Panthers in the second on the power of a home run ball from Fahr that gave PC the 3-1 lead. PC wasn't done yet as a two-run double from Dalton Reeves made it 5-1 in the early going on Saturday.
- PC increased the lead in the fifth with a two-run home run off the bat of Ryan Ouzts to push the advantage to 7-1 after 4.5 innings.
- The Panthers cut into the Blue Hose lead in the fifth with a two-run homer to make it 7-3 Presbyterian as we moved to the sixth.
- Similarly, to Friday HPU cut it to one in the seventh with a three-run frame which was capped by a two-run double from the hosts.
- PC picked up one in the eighth with the sacrifice fly from Ryan Ouzts to push the lead to 8-6.
- The Panthers answered with one in the home half to cut it to a one-run game at 8-7 game after eight innings but Colbey Klepper was able to close it out and help PC clinch the series.
NOTABLES
- The Blue Hose were led at the plate on Saturday by the quartet of Jack Gorman, Jake Randolph, Trey Fenderson, and Reeves who each picked up two hits.
- Fahr picked up his second homer of the season in the second. Ouzts tallied his third long ball on the season later on in the contest.
- PC improved to 3-1 on the season in games where the Blue Hose have hit at least two homers.
- Gorman increased his reached base streak to 20 on Saturday night with his two hits. He's now had a team-high six multi-hit games on the season.
- Reeves recorded his second two-double game of the year with his two on Saturday that included a two-run double in PC's five-run second.
- Fenderson increased his reached base streak to 12 straight games.
- Klepper's scoreless ninth clinched the series for PC and also is the senior's first save in the Blue & Garnet.
- The Blue Hose improved to 5-2 on the season when totaling 10+ hits after finishing one off the season-high with 12 on Saturday.
