High Point Tops Presbyterian in Series Finale

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team fell in Sunday's series finale 11-6 against the host High Point Panthers at Williard Stadium. Freshman Trey Fenderson connected on a two-run triple and Jack Gorman added a two-run homer to help pace the offense on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
- High Point got on the board first in the opening inning with an RBI single to get the early advantage.
- PC answered in the second with Fenderson lacing a two-run triple down the right field line to give PC the early 2-1 lead. 
- The Panthers quickly tied it up in the second with a solo shot to right center to square the game up at two.
- The guests regained the lead in the fourth with a three-run frame to push the lead to 5-2 after four innings.
- HPU increased its advantage with two more runs in the fifth to push it to 7-2.
- Brody Fahr pushed a run across in the sixth with an RBI single that cut the deficit to four, 7-3.
- High Point answered with a pair of runs in its half of the inning to push the lead to six, 9-3 after six.
- The Blue Hose added a run in the seventh via a bases-loaded walk to make it 9-4.
- The hosts pushed two more runs across in the eighth to increase the lead to 11-4 after eight.
- PC connected on a two-run homer off the bat of  Gorman in the ninth before the Panthers salvaged the series finale by the score of 11-6 on Sunday afternoon. 

NOTABLES
- Ouzts along with Fahr each led the offense on Sunday with pair of hits as it's the sixth multi-hit game of the year for Fahr and the third for Ouzts. Ouzts has hits in each of 
- Gorman pushed his reached base streak to 21 on Sunday as he connected on his second homer of the season. The Blue Hose junior now has hits in each of his last four games. 
- The Blue Hose second baseman caps the week leading the team with a .412 average as he went 7-of-17 on the week. He also recorded his third multi-RBI game of the season. 
- Fenderson's triple in the early going allowed his reached base streak to push to 13 consecutive games. The freshman third baseman led PC in the series hitting .364 with three extra-base hits on the weekend. 
- Gorman's ninth inning homer marks the 11th game in the 2023 campaign that PC has hit at least one homer.

- The Blue Hose return home to begin a five-game homestand on Tuesday as PC welcomes in Davidson for a 6 p.m. start on ESPN+.
