Wildcats Down Blue Hose in Midweek Action

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team dropped Tuesday's non-conference matchup against the visiting Davidson by the score of 7-4 at the PC Baseball Complex. Jack Gorman picked up his team-high eighth double in Tuesday's setback.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
- Davidson connected on a two-run homer in the opening half inning on Tuesday to gain a quick advantage on the Blue Hose.
- PC answered in the bottom of the first starting with a Joel Dragoo sacrifice fly before a Wildcats error evened the game at two.
- The first inning was capped with a two-run single from Ryan Becker to make it 4-2 Blue Hose after one.
- Both teams were held off the scoreboard till the seventh when the Wildcats regained the lead with three runs in the inning to gain a 5-4 edge.
- Davidson added a pair of insurance runs with a two-run double in the ninth en route to a 7-4 victory over PC on Tuesday night. 
 
NOTABLES
- Jack Gorman increased his reached base streak to 22 consecutive games as he reached three times including his team-high eighth double on Tuesday. Gorman also has tallied a hit in five straight contests.
- Freshman Trey Fenderson picked up his third double in the last four games to push his reached base streak to 14 straight games.
- Logan Ymker pitched one of the best outings in his Blue Hose career on Tuesday as he pitched two scoreless frames and matched his career high with five strikeouts. 
- Sean Hollister and Tanner Smith matched their season-highs with three strikeouts apiece. 
- As a team, PC finished with a season-high 14 strikeouts led by Ymker's five.
- Becker's two-run knock marked his first collegiate game with multiple RBIs in it for the Cumming, Ga. native. 
 
UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose continue a five-game home stretch on Friday at 6 p.m. when PC welcomes Charleston Southern to Clinton for the opening game of a three-game Big South series.
