Blue Hose Suffer Home Defeat to UNC Asheville on Wednesday

CLINTON, S.C. – In their first home action in nearly a month, the Presbyterian College women's tennis team came out on the wrong end of a 7-0 result in Big South play against UNC Asheville on Wednesday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a tough one today for us against a solid UNC Asheville squad. We are looking to bounce back and finish the season strong against Longwood and Radford."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Asheville got the early advantage with a 6-1 win at the top spot before a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles to give the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.
- McKenzie Davis and Madison Dennett at the No. 2 spot had a 5-4 lead in their match before the doubles point was clinched.
- The guests seized control quickly on Wednesday with a pair of dominant straight-set wins at No. 3 and 6 to push the edge to 3-0.
- The Bulldogs grabbed the match at No. 4 singles to help UNC Asheville improve to 5-0 in league play.
- Two of the final three matches were pushed to three sets before the Bulldogs pushed ahead an earned a 7-0 win on Wednesday afternoon.
 
UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose return to the road on Thursday, April 13 at 12 p.m. against Longwood which will serve as the final road match of the 2023 spring campaign.
