CLINTON, S.C.  – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (2-9) gutted out a 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13) win over the Georgia State Panthers (3-8) at the Templeton Center on Saturday afternoon.

Kasey Battle paced the Blue Hose with 17 kills including the match-winning kill and 15 digs.

"A tough hard fought win for us today," said Presbyterian coach Steven Benson after today's win. "We have been knocking on the door the last two weeks. We are learning a lot about ourselves and getting better along the way. It was a good win for us as we go into conference play next week."

How It Happened vs. Georgia State
- In the first set, Presbyterian's Battle started the scoring off with a kill. Presbyterian jumped out to a 6-1 lead after several Georgia State attack errors and a kill from Hannah Rowe. Georgia State answered with eight straight points taking a 9-6. PC answered with a 6-0 scoring run regaining the lead, 12-9, after a kill from Hailey Grocholski. The Blue Hose would not relinquish the lead and they would go on to take the first set, 25-19.
- In the second set, Georgia State scored the first three points. However, the Blue Hose scored seven of the next 10 points tying the score at seven after a Georgia State ball-handling error. Jordan McAda, Julia Yurkovich, and Rowe had kills during the run. The Panthers scored six straight points to regain the set lead for good. PC was able to cut the Georgia State lead to one point at 16-15 and at 22-21 but they were not able to tie the score or take the lead as Georgia State would take the set, 25-22.
- In the third set, Georgia State scored four of the first six points. The Blue Hose answered with a 5-3 scoring run tying the score at seven. After a Georgia State attack error, the Blue Hose would take a 9-8 lead. The Panthers tied the score at nine then a kill from Battle and three Panthers' attack errors, the Blue Hose jumped in front 13-9. The Blue Hose maintained the lead until the Panthers tied the score at 19. PC took back the lead 20-19. Then, the Panthers scored the final six points to win the set, 25-20.
- In the fourth set, the lead exchanged hands several times until with the score tied at four, Georgia State scored three straight points jumping in front 7-4. The Panthers would increase their lead 9-5 after a service ace. Presbyterian scored eight of the next 11 points taking a 13-11. Presbyterian would never relinquish the lead forcing a decisive fifth set with a 25-23 set win.
- In the fifth set, the Blue Hose started off fast after scoring six of the first eight points of the set capped off by a service ace from Amaris Alvarez. Georgia State cut Presbyterian's lead to one point, 10-9 after a Blue Hose service error. Presbyterian never relinquished the lead and a kill by Battle cliched the Blue Hose's 15-13 set win.Â

Notables
- In the second set, Presbyterian recorded a .250 hitting percentage and in the fifth and decisive set, PC tallied a .261 hitting percentage.
- Sophomore setter Anna Baranski dished out 20 assists. Baranski also recorded 11 digs.
- Senior setter Kinsey Bailey added 14 assists to the Blue Hose's efforts.
- Presbyterian finished the game with seven solo blocks and ten assisted blocks. Senior middle blocker Jordan McAda had three solo blocks and two assisted blocks.Â
