CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Perhaps plagued by a dose of fatigue considering the gauntlet that they've been dealt from a scheduling perspective, the Presbyterian College women's wrestling squad ended up going 0-for-2 in the past two matchups after dropping a spirited 31-16 collision to Campbellsville on the road.
Only 24 hours after suffering an eight-point loss to the third-ranked group among all NCAA programs (King in Bristol), the Blue Hose didn't have room for a breather when facing the # 7 school in the NAIA rankings. The Tigers proved their mettle by jumping out to a 14-0 advantage and never looking back for the victory.
Alyssa Mahan (123) and
Cassia Zammit (130) stopped Campbellsville's spurt near the midway portion of the bout with eight combined points, although a couple of forfeits and a 2:11 fall thereafter left the hole too large to dig out of.
Henlee Haynes and
Ella Beam closed the contest by picking up PC's final eight points on a 5-2 decision and 1:53 pin respectively, now sitting at 7-6 with arguably the nation's most grueling slate fully behind them.
As things stand, only one more dual remains on Presby's calendar the rest of the way with the postseason creeping closer. That last affair will be held at Templeton Gym five nights from now in a meeting opposite Emory & Henry.

UP NEXT:
- Friday evening's home finale will represent the last time that
Isabella Badon,
Morgan Norris, and
Sierra Marie Miller will accompany the squad at their home base, all key figures in the program's rapid ascent to the country's elite.
- That trio will be honored prior to the first match with the Wasps on January 19, scheduled for 7:00 PM in Clinton.
- It won't be PC's first dealings with E&H this season, as they headed to Virginia back in December for a multi-team event and promptly captured 27 individual wins to go with four 1
st-place prizes and two more silver nods inside that particular bracket.
