PC Falls to Radford on the Road

RADFORD, VA. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's basketball team (12-10, BSC: 3-4) fell to the Radford Highlanders (10-11, BSC: 6-1) with a final score of 65-40.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – Bryanna Brady won the tip for a Blue Hose which led to Natalie Herrin scoring the first basket of the game. Radford then went on a 10-point run before Mara Neira made a layup to end their streak. The Highlanders hit another three-point shot before going into the first media timeout with a 13-4 lead. Radford scored four-points off of free throws before Sonia Sato made a layup with just over a minute left in the first quarter. The Highlanders took two more points to end the quarter with a 19-6 lead.
 
Second Quarter – Brady scored her first basket of the game early in the second quarter before a big defensive stand from both sides with over four scoreless minutes of play. Herrin made a layup before the media timeout where Presbyterian was trailing by nine with a score of 19-10. Herrin swished a corner three for the Blue Hose followed by a layup from Brady to make it a four-point game. Radford made their first basket of the second quarter with 1:20 left in the first half. After a buzzer beater three from the Highlanders we went into halftime with a score of 24-16.

Third Quarter – Radford took the first 11 points of the third quarter before Brady broke their streak with a layup. PC made two free throws before Radford scored the next five points. A fast break layup from Herrin sent us to the media timeout with the Highlanders leading by 18 points with a score of 40-22. Radford outscore PC 7-6 to end the quarter with a score of 47-28.
 
Fourth Quarter – After some back and forth, Radford hit a three-point shot to increase their lead to 22. Throughout the remainder of the fourth quarter, Radford outscored PC 13-10 to finish the game with score of 65-40.

- PC held Radford to just five points throughout the second quarter.
