SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's basketball team (12-11, BSC: 3-5) lost to the USC Upstate Spartans (12-9, BSC: 7-1) with a final score of 62-58.

"We did a lot of things that looked like a winning basketball team. We talked a lot about our energy, our effort, and our toughness after Saturday and I was very proud of the team with that tonight."
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – The Spartans took the first basket of the game before PC scored the next four points. USC Upstate took another basket before we headed to the first media timeout with a tie score of four points apiece. After over two minutes of scoreless play, the Spartans scored the next eight points to take a 12-4 lead to end the first quarter.
Second Quarter – Upstate scored six of the first eight points to start off the second quarter.
Paige Kindseth was able to make a layup before the Spartans scored a three-pointer.
Christina Kline answered with back to back three-pointers of her own to make the score 21-14. PC went on to outscore the Spartans 8-5 behind two more three-point buckets from Kline, which brought Upstate's lead down to four-points with a score of 26-22. PC scored a clutch four more points to tie up the game at 26 points apiece before the end of the first half.
Third Quarter – Upstate scored six of the first nine points before
Natalie Herrin evened it out with a three-pointer to push the tie to a score of 32 points apiece. Presbyterian took a two-point lead to go into the media timeout 36-34, behind baskets from
Bryanna Brady and Tilda Sjökvist. The Spartans took seven of the next nine points which gave them a 41-38 lead with 2:20 left in the third quarter. Sjökvist tied the game up at 41 points each after she sank a three-point bucket. Brady made a layup to give PC a two-point lead, but Upstate answered with a three-point shot to give them a one-point lead ending the third quarter with a score of 44-43.
Fourth Quarter – The Spartans scored the first five points of the fourth quarter before Brady made a layup to make it a five-point game. Upstate scored another three-point shot to increase their lead to eight points with a score of 53-45 with 6:17 left to play. The Blue Hose scored the next five points behind another three from Kline. Upstate scored the next four points to increase their lead to seven with a score of 57-50. Layups from both sides made the score 59-52 with 1:46 remaining. After a few free throws USC Upstate led 61-53 with 28.7 seconds on the clock. PC scored the next five points behind three from Herrin to make it a three-point game with 6.6 seconds on the clock. Upstate made a free throw to close out the game 62-58.

- Sjökvist totaled 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.
- Herrin recorded 11 points.
- Scoggins added 8 rebounds.
