FARMVILLE, Va. – Only three matches remain for the Presbyterian College women's soccer team until the 2024 trek has been completed, taking part in their second straight road feature on Saturday afternoon against Longwood.
First touch in Farmville is labeled for 2:00 PM, as the Blue Hose look to rebound from a 2-0 defeat at High Point's hands earlier in the week. ESPN+ will have the call.
The Big South has seen a great deal of parity in the latter stages of the season, with PC needing another league win to join the pack of four others who have obtained a pair of conference victories.
Following tomorrow's venture to Virginia, head coach
Matt Smith's club will enjoy the luxury of their last two matches at home, prepping for UNC Asheville and Radford in Martin Stadium next week.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- While not the prettiest of seasons for the Lancers – winners of only three contests since August – two of them have occurred against Big South foes. They share an identical win with Presbyterian over Gardner-Webb (3-1) and are coming off a gritty showing versus the defending conference tournament champs, Radford.
- Longwood dueled the Highlanders to a scoreless tie on Wednesday in a hostile environment, keeping pace with the same program who has received the last two automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament from the Big South.
- Directed by head coach Todd Dyer in his 31
st season, Longwood has recorded the second-fewest number of goals of the nine schools in the league (14), held to one goal or less in their last four appearances.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Blue Hose couldn't pull out the win earlier in the week when traveling to High Point on a chilly night, unable to answer a first-half strike from the Panthers which led to another in the waning moments.
- Presbyterian's defense remains level-headed despite the setback, allowing only five goals out of 13 opportunities within the final 30 minutes of a match.
- Coach Smith's gang has accumulated 63 points on the year (third-most in the Big South), boasting 10 different goal-scorers in total. Senior
Kelly Hall's .818 save percentage still tops all keepers in the conference (72 stoppages and over 1,100 minutes).
- A win on Saturday would denote PC's first-ever when playing Longwood on the road, currently 0-6 in Farmville since the two became league counterparts in 2012.
- The final tally between Presby and the Lancers in both the 2023 and 2022 matchups was a 1-1 tie. Lina-Marie Müller scored in the 17
th minute of last season's encounter on her way to an All-Big South second team selection.
