CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Big South Conference Championships at Charleston Southern University on Friday morning.
Freshman
David Harner led the Blue Hose men's squad. Junior
Nizeyimana Aristide set a new personal record by nearly two minutes. While
Isabel Whitman paced the Blue Hose women's team.
High Point captured the women's title while High Point's Brianna Malone won the individual title. Charleston Southern won the men's team championship while High Point's Hunter Steinau captured the individual title.
NOTABLES
Harner led the Blue Hose with an 8k time of 28:38.8. Freshman
Jacob Smith (28:54.3), junior
Samuel Wall (31:49.5), Aristide (35:45.3), and senior
James Marler (45:14.8) round out Presbyterian's men's runners. In his final race at PC, Marler had an ankle injury entering the race and then rolled his ankle during the race further injuring himself but he refused to stop and finished the race.Â
Whitman led the Blue Hose for the fifth time this season. She ran a 5k time of 20:18.6. Sophomore
Abby Donaldson (21:41.7), senior
Caroline Rairigh (22:20.6), sophomore
Savannah Watson (23:24.4), and redshirt sophomore
Eliana Watson (27:26.1) round out the Blue Hose women's runners.
