PC Can’t Find Their Rhythm Against Western Carolina

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team (0-5) fell to the Western Carolina Catamounts (5-2) 71-41.

First Quarter
Kishyah Anderson started off strong as she sunk a three ball as the teams first shot. The Catamounts responded with a 13-point run, giving them an early lead. Morgan Boyd drew a foul and made both her free throws, but a bucket from the other side answered for Western Carolina. Anderson was able to grab three more points while Boyd took two, but the opponents took a 20-10 advantage with just under two and a half minutes to play. Paige Kindseth came up with a clutch block and a fast break layup, ending the first quarter with Western Carolina ahead 20-12.

Second Quarter
After almost two scoreless minutes, with solid defense from both sides, the Catamounts broke the streak with 12 unanswered points. Kindseth put the Blue Hose on the board with a layup before following up with a jumper to add four points to PC's tally. Two points from the other side made the score 34-16. Teresa Mbemba added a free throw, but the Catamounts took another basket closing out the first half with a 34-19 advantage.

Third Quarter
Western Carolina took the first four points of the second half before Boyd sunk a pair of free throws. The Catamounts led 46-21 at the media timeout. Kindseth made a jumper before we were sent to the media timeout at 48-24. Boyd's bucket came before Natalie Herrin entered the game for the first time this season. Herrin took a steal leading to a fast break layup as her first points of the year. The opponents answered with a late basket, ending the third quarter with a score of 50-29
