DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team (0-6) lost to the Davidson Wildcats (3-3) with a final score of 81-39 on the road on Sunday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
After Davidson opened the game with a seven-point surge,
Paige Kindseth ended their streak with a layup, putting the Blue Hose on the board. Some free throws added to Presbyterian's tally, but the Wildcats ended the first quarter ahead 21-6.
Second Quarter
Kindseth took an early jumper in the second quarter, but Davidson extended their lead to 27-8. The Blue Hose were able to go on a 9-6 run, as
Teresa Mbemba led the charge with five points and
Natalie Herrin added a layup. Davidson sent us to the halftime break at 38-17.
Third Quarter
The second half started off even as both teams took five points with Mbemba scoring all five for the Blue Hose. Despite a layup from
Aminata Tal, the Wildcats were able to extend their lead to 55-24. Herrin added another bucket and
Morgan Boyd's buzzer beater ended the third quarter, but Davidson led 66-31.
Fourth Quarter
The Blue Hose didn't let up as Mbemba's four points led them on an 8-4 streak in the beginning of the final quarter. Davidson scored the last 11 points of the quarter, closing out the game 81-39.
NOTABLES
- Mbemba finished the night with a personal-best 16 points.
