Presbyterian Falls to Tennessee Tech

COOKEVILLE, Tenn.  – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-4) saw their three-game winning streak end with a 90-75 loss to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (4-3) on the road on Wednesday afternoon.  
 
Kaleb Scott led six Blue Hose double-figure scorers with 14 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds. Jaylen Peterson tallied his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kory Mincy, Iverson King, and Quadir Pettaway scored 11 points apiece. Jamahri Harvey rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Peterson scored the game's first two points with a layup 33 seconds into the contest. With the game tied at 5, Presbyterian's Scott and Mincy scored consecutive layups giving the Blue Hose a 9-5 lead just over four minutes into the game. Then, Tennessee Tech scored five straight points to take the lead. The Blue Hose regained the lead after a turnaround jumper from Pettaway at the 12:38 mark. A dunk by Scott gave the Blue Hose a 15-12 lead but that would be PC's last lead of the half. Tennessee Tech scored six straight points pushing in front 18-15. The Golden Eagles increased their lead to 29-21 with 4:42 on the clock.  The Blue Hose cut Tennessee Tech's lead to 34-29 after Mincy's three from the wing with 2:26 left in the half. The Golden Eagles finished the half on an 11-0 run to take a 45-29 halftime lead.  
 
SECOND HALF – Presbyterian scored 15 of the first 24 points of the half cutting Tennessee Tech's lead to 54-44 when Mincy converted on a three-point field goal from the top of the key with 14:29 on the clock. However, Presbyterian could not get any closer to Tennessee Tech as the Golden Eagles went on a 12-2 scoring run over the next three minutes pushing their lead to 20.
 

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • Scott tallied his second double-digit points game of the season with 14 points.
  • Mincy reached the double-figure points plateau for the eighth time this season and the 14th in his career with his 11 points.
  • Peterson picked up his second double-figure scoring game of the season with 11 points and his second straight double-figure rebounds game with 10 boards.
  • Harvey posted his fourth double-figure scoring game of the season and the 13th of his Presbyterian career with 11 points.
  • Pettaway scored in double-figures for the first time this season and the third time in his career with 11 points.
  • King's 11 points marked his third double-figure scoring game of the season.
  • Presbyterian connected on a season-high tying 11 three-point field goals.
