CLINTON, S.C.  – Behind six double-figure scorers and a total team offensive attack, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-1) cruised past the Carolina Christian Centurions (0-5), 120-45, in their home opener at the Templeton Center on Wednesday night.

Presbyterian's 120 points set a program Division I era record for points in a game. The Blue Hose made 43 field goals which is the second most field goals made in a game in the Division I era.

All 12 Presbyterian players that saw action scored at least two points and grabbed at least one rebound.
Â
Kobe Stewart led the Blue Hose with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field.
Jonah Pierce scored 17 points.
Iverson King recorded his career double-digit scoring game with 14 points while grabbing eight rebounds.
Kory Mincy tallied his second straight double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.
Jamahri Harvey and
Carl Parrish scored 11 points apiece.

Presbyterian scored 60 points in the paint and 54 bench points.

Presbyterian exploded for 73 second half points while limiting Carolina Christian to 17 points and 17.9 percent shooting from the field. Â Â Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – The Blue Hose scored 10 of the game's first 12 points behind the scoring of Pierce, Peterson, Harvey, and Stewart. At the 11:35 mark, Harvey connected on a three giving the Blue Hose a 23-10 lead. Presbyterian pushed their lead to 19 points four times over the final 11 minutes of the half. Stewart scored on a tip-in at the first half buzzer giving PC a 47-28 halftime lead. Â

SECOND HALF – At the 18:20 mark, Pierce scored inside pushing PC's lead into twenties increasing their lead to 51-30. At the 16:03 mark, Parrish knocked down a three off a fast break increasing the Blue Hose's lead to 61-31. Over the next eight minutes, Presbyterian went on a 29-8 run taking a 90-39 lead after a dunk by Pierce at the 7:52 mark. Presbyterian had their largest lead of 75 points twice including after
Quadir Pettaway scored the game's final basket with a jump shot in the lane with 33 seconds left in the game.

- After going 5-for-5 from the field in today's game, Pierce has started the season a perfect 16-for-16 from the field.
- Mincy has begun the season with two straight double-doubles.
- Parrish has recorded two straight double-figure scoring games.
- In the second half, Presbyterian shot 71.1 percent (27-38) from the field. For the game, the Blue Hose shot a torrid 62.3 percent (43-69).
- The Blue Hose finished the game with a 49-27 advantage on the boards.
