Women’s Wrestling Falls Four Points Shy of King Upset

CLINTON, S.C. – In a battle between #3 and #6 in the nation with Templeton Gymnasium as the backdrop, the Presbyterian College women's wrestling team was dealt a narrow defeat at the hands of Southeast Region rival King on Tuesday night, 25-21.

True freshman Chloe Dearwester (the reigning Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week) gave her club an early 6-3 edge with a 65-second pin against eighth-ranked Avery Kibelbek, the biggest highlight of a 9-0 start to her collegiate career.

However, the Tornado would earn five more wins after that moment despite forfeiting a couple bouts to the Blue Hose.

A technical fall in the 180-lb. event wound up being the winning decision for King, allowing them to withstand an injury-assisted W from Ella Beam (207) in the night's last tussle.

Both of King's wins over PC in the last 11 months have come by single digits, collecting four tech's and two pins in Tuesday's affair.
