CLINTON, S.C. – Behind five double-figure scorers, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (6-5) cruised past the Columbia College Koalas (8-6), 97-57, in front of a loud education day crowd at the Templeton Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Kobe Stewart led all scorers with 21 points including shooting 9-for-12 from the field.
Jamahri Harvey connected on five three-point field goals on his way to 17 points.
Kory Mincy scored 14 points, dished out six assists, and grabbed five rebounds.
Carl Parrish scored 12 points and dished out seven assists.
Jaylen Peterson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Presbyterian finished the game with 50 points in the paint and 26 fast break points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Presbyterian scored the game's first seven points with Stewart scoring four points during that stretch. Harvey, who connected on a five threes in the half, knocked down a three from the corner giving the Blue Hose a 16-2 lead with 14:36 on the clock.
Triston Wilson's dunk pushed the Blue Hose in front 21-5 just over seven minutes into the contest. With 9:34 on the clock,
Kaleb Scott scored inside giving the Blue Hose a 20-point lead, 30-10. Columbia College would score five straight points. Then, the Blue Hose scored 11 of the next 13 points increasing their lead to 41-17, after a jumper in the lane from Parrish with 4:25 left in the half. Presbyterian scored the final six points of the half on made layups from Parrish, Stewart, and Harvey giving the Blue Hose a 55-27 halftime lead.
SECOND HALF – Columbia College scored 13 of the first 17 points of the half cutting PC's lead to 59-40 with 16:39 on the clock. With 14:30 on the clock, the Koalas cut Presbyterian's lead to 17, 63-46. Then, the Blue Hose scored 11 straight points pushing their lead to 28, 77-46, after Peterson knocked down a free throw with 9:53 left in the game. After a dunk by Peterson, the Blue Hose had increased their lead to 31 points, 81-50. Columbia College cut PC's lead to 29 points a couple of times but was not able to get any closer as Presbyterian outscored Columbia, 15-4, over the final five minutes to close out the 97-57 win.

- Presbyterian's defense limited Columbia College to 26 percent (6-for-23) shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
