Blue Hose Slayed the Dragons

CLINTON, S.C. – Behind seven double-figure scorers, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-6) ran past the Virginia Lynchburg Dragons (0-17), 116-53, in the Templeton Center on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Kobe Stewart led the Blue Hose with 20 points. Stewart also grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists. Kaleb Scott collected a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jamahri Harvey and Iverson King scored 14 points apiece. Carl Parrish contributed 13 points. Triston Wilson scored 11 points off the bench. Kory Mincy nearly recorded a double-double with 10 points and eight assists.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF – Presbyterian scored the game's first 12 points behind the scoring of Stewart, Scott, and Harvey. The Blue Hose reached the 20-point plateau after two free throws from Jaylen Peterson six minutes into the game pushing their lead to 20-6. A jumper in the lane from Houston Jones gave Presbyterian a 30-10 lead at the 11:21 mark. During that stretch, Presbyterian went on a 15-2 run pushing their lead to 37-12 with eight minutes left in the half. Mincy connected on a three from the wing giving the Blue Hose a 40-13 lead. A layup by Mincy pushed the Blue Hose past the 50-point mark. Presbyterian enjoyed a 59-25 halftime lead.  
 

SECOND HALF 
– A layup by Stewart pushed the Blue Hose's lead to 40 points, 70-30, at the 16:42 mark. Presbyterian went on a 16-0 run which included Stewart's layup giving PC a 77-30 lead after Parrish knocked down a free throw with 15 minutes on the clock. Presbyterian went past the 80-point mark after a layup from King with 13:37 on the clock. A dunk from Scott pushed the Blue Hose over 90 points. A free throw from Harvey at the 6:03 mark was Presbyterian's 100th point. The Blue Hose scored the game's final six points making the Blue Hose's final margin of victory, 116-53.

  • Presbyterian's 116 points are tied for the third most points scored by the Blue Hose during the Division I era.
  • Presbyterian scored a season-high 64 points in the paint, 35 fast break points, and 43 bench points.
  • Stewart recorded his fourth 20-point scoring game of the season and the fifth of his career with 20 points. Stewart shot a blistering 7-for-8 from the field.

  • Eleven PC players grabbed at least one rebound and 10 Blue Hose players scored at least two points.
