Football Shatters PFL-Era Record with Six All-League First-Teamers

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Far and away their most successful season since joining the division in 2020, the Presbyterian College football team celebrates six All-PFL First Team honorees and seven all-leaguers in total as part of Tuesday afternoon's postseason awards rollout.

Dominic Kibby (wide receiver), Worth Warner (tight end), Zach Switzer (return specialist), Carter Szydlowski (defensive tackle), Alex Herriott (linebacker), and Caleb Francis (cornerback) were all deemed First Team status by the Pioneer Football League, joined by wideout Cincere Gill on the Second Team list.

By claiming seven all-leaguers combined, PC ties the third-most out of the 11-team conference. They mirror 2024 PFL regular season champion Drake for the highest number of players on the First-Team ballot (six).

This is by far the richest All-Conference collection that Presbyterian has earned since their admittance to the Pioneer League four years ago. Their seven All-Conference winners are the most by the Blue Hose since 2011 (also seven, then in the Big South), matching the most in PC's Division I history.

Head coach Steve Englehart's third season in Clinton has resulted in the college's most First-Team members since 2005 when they were a member of the South Atlantic Conference.

Tuesday's announcement is the third time in Presbyterian history that the Blue Hose achieved at least six players purely on the First-Team ballot. The other occasions: seven in 2005 and eight in 1979.

PULL THE ROPE

- The Scotsmen dramatically turned around an unlucky 2-6 start that featured numerous close defeats, finishing with six wins for the first time in a decade and scooping their first four-game winning streak since 2007.

- Defeating Stetson, Dayton, and Marist by a combined 68 points to begin that streak, PC closed the campaign by beating #23 Butler at Bailey Memorial Stadium (30-27), the first victory against a nationally-ranked opponent since 2014.

- That cemented PC's first undefeated record in the month of November since 2002, chosen for a weekly award by the PFL in three consecutive games to finish out the semester.

- Yesterday, rookie quarterback Collin Hurst was named the conference's Offensive Freshman of the Year after leading the charge in that season-closing tsunami.

Dominic Kibby – 6'1" | 175 lb. | Jr. | WR | Catonsville, Md.
All-PFL First Team (2nd Consecutive Year)

Kibby All-PFL

With one season of eligibility still left in his stat-stuffing career, Kibby needs only 29 more receiving yards to break the PC record in the D-I era (2007 onwards). Through three seasons, he has assembled 136 catches for 2,304 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns.

His 15th TD was enough to break the school's Division I record during a 42-14 blowout over Stetson, doing so on a 94-yard bomb from Hurst to become the new longest passing play from scrimmage in Blue Hose history.

Kibby has now gone three straight seasons with at least 700 receiving yards, logging a season-high eight catches in the Dayton win and a season-high 155 yards versus Virginia-Lynchburg.

In his PC tenure, Dominic has surpassed the century mark against seven opponents. Four of those happened in 2021 when he was named a freshman All-American by Phil Steele publications.

Worth Warner – 6'4" | 220 lb. | Gr. | TE | Raleigh, N.C.
All-PFL First Team (2nd Consecutive Year)

Warner All-PFL

Warner's fifth season at Presbyterian was certainly the most memorable, hauling in 27 catches for 315 yards and four total touchdowns. Interestingly, he scored a pair of rushing TD's when lined up for a direct snap, finding the end zone from the backfield during the Dayton and Marist wins.

His final performance in a Blue Hose uniform saw Worth clinch his second-career two-touchdown day, aiding in the upset over Butler by harvesting the game-tying TD in the 3rd quarter that kickstarted a 16-0 run.

The captain secured a personal-best 132 receiving yards in the PFL opener at Davidson, becoming something of a dual-threat option by scoring a touchdown in two of his four carries down the stretch.

Alex Herriott – 5'11" | 225 lb. | Sr. | LB | Hanahan, S.C.
All-PFL First Team (2nd Consecutive Year)

Herriott All-PFL

The Presbyterian D-I record book has the name "Herriott" written in seemingly a dozen different places, hanging up his blue and garnet cleats with career totals of 368 tackles, 30 stops behind the line of scrimmage, and 11 sacks.

By publishing 96 tackles as a senior, Herriott becomes the first player in PC's Division I history to lead the team in tackles for four straight seasons.

Alex racked up 41 stops over his final five appearances, never missing a game in his entire collegiate career and lining up 214 tackles over the last two years alone.

The South Carolina native plucked his first interception in the '24 opener at Mercer, grabbing at least one TFL in six meetings during his last ride.

Zach Switzer – 5'11" | 195 lb. | Sr. | RS | Spring Hill, Tenn.
All-PFL First Team

Switzer All-PFL

One of the most dangerous open-field threats in all of FCS football, Switzer carried the torch in the conference with 1,250 all-purpose yards along with 673 yards in kick return duties. He fired off a 90-yard kick return touchdown during an early-season W at Erskine, the only player in the PFL to take a kickoff to the house in 2024.

Seven of Switzer's kick returns went for a minimum of 35 yards this fall, including a 57-yarder to set up a momentum-shifting TD at Marist and two 40-yarders in the season-starter against Mercer.

Outside of his special teams expertise, Zach mustered 326 rushing yards beside three more touchdowns, as well as an extra 251 yards out of PC's passing attack.

Carter Szydlowski – 6'3" | 260 lb. | Jr. | DL | Mount Pleasant, Tenn.
All-PFL First Team

Szydlowski All-PFL

The Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week following the top-25 triumph versus Butler, Szydlowski led Presbyterian's roster in '24 with 9.5 tackles for a loss. That directly led the opponent to go backward 64 yards, with six of those TFL's being sacks.

Carter set a personal-best with nine tackles as he greatly contributed to Butler's demise, recovering a fourth-quarter fumble to quell any hopes of a Bulldog comeback in clutch time.

Szydlowski pressured the QB six times in his second year under Englehart's system, congregating 38 tackles. He was one of the key figures on a Presby defense that allowed just 114 rushing yards per game, ranking 17th at the FCS level.

Caleb Francis – 6'2" | 195 lb. | Jr. | DB | Jacksonville, Fla.
All-PFL First Team

Francis All-PFL

No player in the PFL deflected more passes than Francis (10), enjoying a breakout season that entailed three interceptions, one forced fumble, and 50 tackles (fourth on the roster).

The Floridian picked off a pass in three consecutive conference affairs during the midway point of the season, all diving catches in single coverage against a receiver going for the home run ball. He tormented eventual league champion Drake with an INT and a caused fumble in the same half.

As a corner, Caleb gained a career-high seven tackles across the Dayton win and disrupted five pass attempts during the season-closing four-game winning streak. Opposing QB's efficiency rating was a mere 119 against Francis and the PC secondary, a number that ranks inside the nation's top 25.

Cincere Gill – 6'1" | 175 lb. | Sr. | WR | Foxboro, Mass.
All-PFL Second Team

Gill All-PFL

A massive weapon in chunk plays as the season reached its climax, Gill put together his best campaign in a Blue Hose uniform by catching 36 passes for 573 yards and five touchdowns.

After finding the end zone three times in the season's first four games, Cincere penned a career-high performance at Marist in the penultimate contest of the fall. On just four targets, he accumulated 161 yards and a couple of TD's in the opening half.

He caught a season-high eight passes against Drake and went on to return punts as well during the four-game winning streak. Gill averaged 16 yards per reception, converting a huge 4th-and-9 play in the 3rd quarter of the Butler upset to position PC for the tiebreaking touchdown.
