Blue Hose Beat TSU After A Doubles Sweep

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's tennis team (6-5) beat the Tennessee State Tigers (0-9) on Sunday morning with a final score of 5-2.
 
DOUBLES
- Presbyterian's Lucianna Piedra and Madison Dennett teamed up at the No. 2 spot to beat TSU's Francisca Gomez Weis and Warona Mdlulwa.
- McKenzie Davis and Mathilde Delaney secured the doubles point for the Blue Hose after defeating Tennessee State's Perri Howard and Louise Ratiu at the No. 1 position.
- Claudia Sanchez and Claire Giddings completed the doubles sweep for Presby after beating the Tiger's Jovana Nikolic and Natalie Walsh at the No. 3 slot.
 
SINGLES
- Howard tied up the match for TSU after PC's Claire Giddings retired due to an injury after being up 4-3.
- At the No. 1 spot, Presbyterian's Davis took victory over Tennessee State's Nikolic with a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win.
- The Tiger's tied it up at two apiece after Weis defeated PC's D'Estree Colalancia with a score of 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot.
- The Blue Hose regained the lead at the No. 2 spot when Delaney took down TSU's Mdlulwa with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
- Piedra kept the momentum going for Presbyterian with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 3 position against Tennessee State's Ratiu.
- Dennett closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over the Tiger's Aroa Arrieta Castillo at the No. 6 slot.
