CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's tennis team (6-5) is set for three matches throughout the week. On Wednesday, the Blue Hose welcome the College of Charleston Cougars (3-2) to Clinton for a first serve at 3:00 p.m. Then, on Saturday PC heads to the Georgia State Panthers (2-6) for a match starting at 10:00 a.m. The following day, the Blue Hose close out the weekend with a match against the Kennesaw State Owls (1-3).

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- Over Charleston's first five matches this season, they have recorded three wins over Queens, East Carolina, and Coastal Carolina.
- Freshman Oziera Ahmad leads the team in singles with a 4-0 record, while competing in the No. 3 spot twice and the No. 4 spot twice.
- Graduate students Maggie Cubitt and Halli Trinkle lead the team with a 2-0 doubles record, when paired together, with wins in the No. 2 spot.
- The Cougars lead the all-time series 4-0.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
- Over Georgia State's first eight matches this year, they have totaled a 2-6 record with wins over Florida A&M and Jacksonville State.
- Saturday marks the first time that these two teams will play a match since Presbyterian joined Division I in 2008.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
- Kennesaw State has tallied a 1-3 record over their first four games this season after a win over Alabama State.
- Taylor Dean led the team last season with a 6-10 singles record while competing in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
- Sophia Unger and Izabelle Persson recorded a 6-7 doubles record at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots.
- The Owls lead the all-time series between the two teams 5-2.
A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
- After being picked third in the conference's preseason poll, which is the highest in the program's history, Presbyterian currently has a 6-5 record with wins over Queens, Lander, Belmont Abbey (x2),North Greenville, and Tennessee State.

Claudia Sanchez leads the Blue Hose with a 7-3 singles record with four wins at the No. 2 spot and three wins at the No.3 position.

Valentina De Sousa in doubles to earn a 4-2 record, winning two matches at the No. 2 slot and two wins at the No. 3 spot. Sanchez has more recently teamed up with senior
Lucianna Piedra to go 2-0 at the No. 2 position.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
On February 7 junior
Claudia Sanchez was named Big South Player of the Week after her performance throughout the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The Betera, Valencia, Spain native went 3-0 in all singles matches played last week. She won 6-1, 6-2 at the number three spot in singles against Lander, and then 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 at the number three flight over Coastal Carolina. Sanchez concluded her week with a 7-5, 6-2 straight set victory over UNC Wilmington in the number two spot.

Joel Roberts 2024 spring slate features 21 matches including 16 outside of the conference beginning with this weekend's matches in Charlotte. PC will play 11 matches at the Templeton tennis courts here at Presbyterian College this spring. In conference play, PC hosts Longwood, Gardner-Webb, and Charleston Southern.
