The Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-4) return to the Templeton Tennis Courts to play the Belmont Abbey Crusaders (11-7) in a doubleheader beginning at Noon on Tuesday, February 27.
Pedro Cardoso and
David Mamalat are tied for the team lead with six wins.
Javier Matos has recorded five wins all at number one singles.
Denim Yadav has collected four singles wins this season. The doubles team of Matos and Yadav lead the team with four wins all at the number one position.
LAST TIME OUT
Presbyterian defeated Tennessee Tech, 5-2, on the road this past Sunday. PC claimed the doubles point for the fifth time this season.
Evgenios Vasilakis, Matos, Mamalat, and Cardoso tallied singles wins.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Cardoso was named Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week on February 7. He is the 14
th different player in the program's history to capture the Big South Player of the Week award. Cardoso claimed the award after recording three singles wins and three doubles wins with three different partners in helping the Blue Hose post a perfect 3-0 record that week.
PRESBYTERIAN - BELMONT ABBEY SERIES
The Blue Hose have won the last seven meetings between the two teams. PC defeated Belmont Abbey, 7-0, on the road in their most recent match on February 19, 2022. Cardoso recorded a straight sets win at number five singles in that match.
SCOUTING BELMONT ABBEY
The Crusaders enter the matches on a five-match winning streak with wins over two wins over Pfeiffer, and Davis & Elkins, and a road win at Johnson C. Smith. Charlie Fremaux leads the team with six singles wins. Jackson Korta, Kai Lloveras, and Zak Vince have tallied four wins apiece.
