HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME #1
- In the top of the first inning,
Aaron Hobson was walked before stealing second and third base. He was then able to reach home to give PC their first run of the day.
-
Jackson Hugus didn't take long to put one on the board when he hit a homer over the left field wall in the top of the second inning to increase PC's lead to a score of 2-0.
- It stayed that way until the top of the fourth inning when
Jay Wetherington hit one over the right field wall to make it 3-0.
- Not much later,
Brody Fahr hit an RBI single to right center field, giving Hobson his second run of the day.
- The Lancers picked up their first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, before we saw no score from either side until the ninth inning.
- Longwood was able to pick up a last second pair of runs to tie up the game and force extra innings.
- The Blue Hose weren't too fond of this as they quickly put another one on the board in the top of the 10
th after a sacrifice fly from Hobson to send
Eli Lazio in for a run.
- With Longwood able to put anymore on the board in the 10
th inning, PC took the 5-4 victory.

GAME #2
- The Blue Hose started the second game off strong with a single from Fahr before
Joel Dragoo was walked. Rhouge Wallace hit an RBI single to put the teams first run on the board early.

Ryan Becker then hit a sacrifie fly to send Dragoo in to go up 2-0.
- In the top of the second inning, Fahr hit a triple down the right field line to send Lazio in and put Presbyterian ahead 3-0.
- Longwood took their first run in the bottom of the second.
- In the top of the fourth inning, Wetherington and Fahr both recorded base hits before Dragoo doubled to right field, picking up two RBIs and pushing the Blue Hose's lead to a score of 5-1.
- The Lancers scored again in the bottom of the fifth, but Presbyterian answered with a run in the top of the sixth.
- After some solid defense from both sides, PC took game two with a score of 6-2.
