Women’s Basketball Names Two CSC Academic All-District Players

CLINTON, S.C. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their annual Academic All-District team honors on Tuesday, March 26. Senior forward Núria Cunill and junior guard Paige Kindseth of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's basketball team met the extensive requirements for honors residing outside of the basketball court.
 
In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District, one must be considered a regular starter or key reserve while competing in at least 90 percent of the team's contests throughout the season. Additionally, a minimum 3.5 grade-point average must be submitted, while true freshmen are excluded simply due to the newness factor.

After competing in all 36 games with the Blue Hose this season, Cunill finished the season with some impressive achievements both on and off the court. The Berga, Spain native holds the individual single game field goal percentage https://gobluehose.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/n-ria-cunill/6822record for PC's Division I era, shooting a perfect 8-of-8 against High Point on Jan. 14 2023. She also led the team with the most rebounds in a single game this year with 17 against Columbia. Cunill increased her career field goal percentage this season to take the program's DI record with a 58.4 percent from the field throughout her two years on the team. Academically, Cunill was named to the Dean's List in both the spring and fall semesters of 2023.

Kindseth played in all 36 games for the Blue Hose this season with 13 starts. She started in the final 10 games of the team's season including all of the Big South Tournament and the two NCAA Tournament games that the team competed in. Averaging 21.6 minutes per game on the season, the Farmington, Minn. Native put up a 35.6 field goal percentage, 3.8 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game. In the classroom, Kindseth earned achievements such as being named to the Deans list in the fall and spring semesters of 2022, as well as the fall semester of 2023. For the spring semester of 2023, Kindseth was given a spot on the President's list for her exceptional academic work.
