CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (9-9) behind two doubles and four singles wins topped the Chattanooga Mocs (8-9), 5-2, at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The victory marked the Blue Hose's first win over Chattanooga in the Division I era.
DOUBLES
The Blue Hose captured the doubles point with wins at the number one and three spots. At number one doubles, Presbyterian's
McKenzie Davis and
Mathilde Delaney posted PC's first win of the match with a 6-3 victory. The doubles tandem of
Valentina De Sousa and
Claire Giddings collected a 6-4 win to clinch the doubles point. At number two doubles, Presbyterian's
Madison Dennett and
Lucianna Piedra were leading their match, 5-3, when it was stopped since PC had clinched the doubles point.

SINGLES
Presbyterian tallied four singles wins to claim the overall victory. At number six singles, Giddings cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win. Chattanooga tied the score at two with wins on courts two and four. Davis collected her 11th win of the season with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory at number one singles. Dennett clinched the victory for PC with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at number five singles. Piedra closed out the scoring with her ninth win of the season with a 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) victory at number three singles. Â
