COACH POLLOCK'S THOUGHTS
"
Charlie McDaniel was amazing on the mound today and continues to pitch at a very high level. He carried the load for seven solid innings again this week, which shortened the game for our bullpen. Our offense was very good again today and we played errorless ball for the second straight game. I am proud of our performance in the first two games, but we will quickly shift our attention to tomorrow's game with
Fenix DiGiacomo on the hill."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game opened with
Charlie McDaniel delivering a flawless 1-2-3 inning, showcasing his pitching prowess right from the start. However, the bottom of the first inning belonged to
Brody Fahr, who wasted no time making an impact by smashing a homer over the left field wall, swiftly putting his team ahead 1-0. Not to be outdone,
Joel Dragoo stepped up as the next batter and matched Fahr's feat with his ninth homer of the season.
- In the bottom of the second inning, the momentum continued for the Blue Hose as
Eli Lazio was hit by a pitch, setting the stage for
Jay Wetherington's impactful double to right-center field. With runners now in scoring position on second and third base, a wild pitch allowed Wetherington to advance to third base while also bringing Lazio home for the team's third run of the day. Shortly after, Wetherington capitalized on a passed ball, showcasing his speed as he raced home to extend the Blue Hose's lead to four runs after just two innings.
- In the top of the third inning, Winthrop got on the board with a home run, marking their first run of the game.
- After two quiet innings in the fifth and sixth, Dragoo ignited the offense with a triple through the right side, notching his third hit of the day. The momentum continued as
Noah Lebron followed up with an RBI single up the middle, driving Dragoo home and extending the Blue Hose's lead to 5-1.
- The Blue Hose held their opponents scoreless over the next four innings, setting the stage for a decisive offensive surge in the bottom of the eighth.
Jackson Hugus kick-started the inning with a solid single to left field, followed by Featherstone's well-placed single to third base. With Winthrop making a pitching change, Lazio executed a sacrifice bunt, advancing the runners to second and third base. Wetherington then capitalized on a fielder's choice with a bunt, driving Hugus home for another run. Adding to the pressure, Wetherington stole second base, setting the stage for Fahr's clutch moment, a two-RBI single up the middle, widening the gap to a score of 8-1 in favor of the Blue Hose. The offensive onslaught continued as Lebron delivered a sharp single through the left side, followed by Gorman's RBI single to left field.
Jake Randolph joined the action with a single through the left side, bringing Lebron home for the team's 10th run of the day. The highlight of the inning came from Hugus, whose powerful swing sent a three-run dinger soaring over the left field wall, catapulting the Blue Hose's lead to an impressive 13-1 by the end of the inning.
- After Winthrop failed to score any additional runs in the top of the ninth, PC secured a convincing 13-1 victory in game number two of the series.
