CLINTON, S.C. –
Evgenios Vasilakis and
Denim Yadav posted singles wins as the Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-12, Big South: 2-2) lost to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs (13-6, Big South: 3-1), 5-2, in their final home match of the season on Monday afternoon.
DOUBLES
The Bulldogs posted wins at number one and three doubles to claim the doubles point. The doubles team of Vasilakis and
Pedro Cardoso were leading their match, 4-2, at number two doubles when the match was stopped since the Bulldogs had clinched the doubles point.
SINGLES
UNC Asheville won four singles matches. UNC Asheville collected wins on courts six and two to take a 3-0 lead. At number four singles, Yadav won after his opponent had to retire with the match tied at one set apiece, 3-6, 6-2. The Bulldogs won on courts three and one. Vasilakis finished the season undefeated in Big South play after a hard fought three sets victory, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, at number six singles to close out the match.
