CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (16-17, BSC: 7-2) fell to the Western Carolina Catamounts (18-12, SoCon: 4-2) on Tuesday night with a final score of 9-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first inning,
Jake Randolph got the Blue Hose on the board first in the bottom of the second inning with a longball over the left field wall.
- The Catamounts scored their first runs of the day in the top of the fourth inning when they put four on the board, taking their first lead of the night with a score of 4-1.
- Western Carolina took another four runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead to a score of 8-1.
- In the bottom of the seventh inning,
Noah Lebron got on base with a single before
Jack Gorman advanced him to second with a base hit down the left field line. Randolph then took his second RBI of the night with a single to right center field, sending Gorman to third and Lebron in for a run. After a pitching change,
Eli Lazio hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Gorman to touch home plate.
- The opponents took one more run in the top of the eighth inning to make the score 9-3.
- Presbyterian was able to score two more runs in the bottom of the ninth, but ultimately Western Carolina took a 9-5 win.
