TEMPE, Ariz. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose men's tennis team was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its work in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year. Presbyterian was one of 176 Division I programs to receive the Team Academic Award.
Marco Foglieni and
Denim Yadav were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
TEAM ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The criteria for the team award include having a team grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the current academic year.
For the fifth straight season and the 12th time in the program's history, the Blue Hose earned the academic honor. Presbyterian posted a 3.39 team GPA for the 2023-24 academic year.
ITA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE
Individuals must have had at least a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year to be named ITA Scholar-Athlete. This year, 1,059 Division I men's tennis players were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
MARCO FOGLIENI
This past season,
Marco Foglieni was a Second Team All-Big South Doubles selection. He teamed with
David Mamalat to collect four doubles wins all on court two. The Cologno al Serio, Italy native has a 3.79 GPA while currently undeclared on his major.
DENIM YADAV
For the second consecutive year,
Denim Yadav earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades. This past season, Yadav was a First-Team All-Big South Doubles and Big South All-Academic team selection. Yadav also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. He teamed with
Javier Matos to record six wins all at number one doubles while recording seven singles wins with three of those wins coming against Big South competition. The Indore, India native had a 3.96 GPA while currently undeclared on his major.
