CLINTON, S.C. – Ahead of the ever-close 2024 season and the debut year for head coach Matt Smith in his return to campus, the Presbyterian College women's soccer team has formally introduced a group of five newcomers to the roster.

The quintet below will all be entering their freshman seasons next month and will comprise the first recruiting class for Coach Smith since accepting the position at PC last December.

Those five new players join a large recruiting class that includes four additional athletes who committed to PC back in November (Evyn Johnson, Harlan Lyons, Cassidy Oldham, and Allie Williams), making the total number of newbies on Smith's '24 roster up to nine individuals.

Each rookie hails from a different spot on the map, including two foreigners from the country of Europe. Presbyterian officially kicks off the '24 schedule (following two exhibitions) on August 15 with a visit to nearby Wofford.

Smith and newly-appointed assistant coaches Kursten von Klahr and Joshua Pooler will bring the Blue Hose into a new era this fall, welcoming three freshmen who primarily play on the offensive end of the field as well as a pair of keepers.

 
Sydney Lassiter | Forward
Hough High School | Cornelius, North Carolina
Lassiter will come into the PC system after being named an All-State and All-Region performer for the Hough Huskies in North Carolina. The daughter of Marty and Cheri Lassiter, she intends to major in Business with the aspiration of becoming a real estate agent. Sydney selected Presbyterian with a goal of winning the Big South.



 
Ashley McAtee | Goalkeeper
Dundee-Crown High School | Algonquin, Illinois
McAtee joins the goalie mix at PC after a splendid tenure with the Dundee-Crown Chargers, an All-Conference and All-State runner-up player who was named the Super-Y Golden Glove winner. A team captain while spending her club membership with Sockers FC Chicago, Ashley was DCHS' valedictorian and an Illinois State Scholar. She is the daughter of Sean McAtee and Kristen Barber, seeking to major in Business Administration / Management with the potential for a double major in Pre-Law.



 
Gracie Moulton | Goalkeeper
Lexington High School | Lexington, South Carolina
The second of Presby's incoming keepers, Moulton will reside in Clinton after an All-Region designation at Lexington High School roughly one hour away from campus. Suiting up for the Wildcats, she earned the state record in weightlifting and played for the South Carolina United club team. Gracie graduated from LHS with honors and plans to major in Biology once arriving at PC. She is the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Moulton.



 
Julija Poplašen | Forward
Gabrovica pri Komnu | Slovenia
Julija has signed with Presbyterian from across the pond in Slovenia, an attacker who will be majoring in Economics once formally being integrated into Smith's system.



 
Fialisa Soederberg | Midfielder
Stockholm, Sweden
Another signee from outside the United States, Soederberg is headed to the Blue Hose after an association with Midsommarkransens Gymnasium in Sweden's capital city. She settled on Presbyterian because "it feels like the best place for me to grow as both a player and a person", setting a goal to play for the Big South championship. Fialisa is the daughter of Bjoern and Ann-Sofie Soederberg.
