HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
Paige Kindseth was the first to score, putting Presbyterian on the board early. The Highlanders answered with a three-point play, but another jumper in the paint from Kindseth held a 4-3 lead for PC.
Kishyah Anderson took her first basket of the day while drawing a foul to complete the three-point play. Radford went on to take 11 unanswered-points and extend their lead to 14-7 before the end of the first quarter.
Â
Second Quarter
The Highlanders extended their momentum into the second quarter, quickly capitalizing with a layup. Anderson brought the opponents streak to a halt as she nailed a pullup jumper. Not long after, Radford was able to go on another run, this time taking seven-straight points, before Kindseth's layup slowed their momentum. This sparked a rally for the Blue Hose which saw buckets from
Ellie Southards,
Aminata Tal, and
Sonia Sato, cutting their deficit to 23-17. Sato took another basket before the halftime break, but the Highlanders held the lead 24-19 after two quarters.
Â
Third Quarter
Anderson and Sato each sank a field goal to open the third quarter, making it a one-point game. Radford hit a jumper before Anderson drew a foul and sank both of her shots, setting the score at 26-25. Despite a solid layup from
Adout Ring, Radford took 12 of the next 14 points, extending their lead to 38-27. After some back and forth, Radford closed out the third quarter with a layup, sending us to the break with the Highlanders ahead 46-32.
Â
Fourth Quarter
Radford opened the final 10 minutes of play with five points, helping them surpass the 50-point mark. The Blue Hose didn't quit fighting as Kindseth and Sato picked up a layup each, but the Highlanders answered with a five-point run of their own to set the score at 56-36. After both teams shot some free throws, Presbyterian went on a 10-point surge, led by three buckets from Anderson and a triple from
