BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (0-4) finished competition in Alabama on Sunday afternoon after losing to the Samford Bulldogs (3-1).
Valentina De Sousa and
Madison Dennett picked up their first singles wins of the spring season, but the Bulldogs walked away with a 5-2 victory on their home courts.

DOUBLES
The Bulldogs took the first point of the day after winning their doubles matches at the No. 2 and 3 positions. The No. 1 doubles contest was left unfinished while Samford was leading 5-2.

SINGLES
Samford earned the first three singles points, winning in straight sets at the No. 1, 2, and 3 slots. De Sousa grabbed a point for the Blue Hose after defeating Samford's Meredith Taylor 6-4, 6-2.
Mary Ellen Longmire put up a good fight against the Bulldog's Grace Keller, but ultimately fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-0. The day closed with Dennett's match at the No. 5 position against Samford's Libby Blair, where Dennett was able to earn another point for the Blue Hose, winning 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
