Box Score GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (1-4) defeated the Lander Bearcats (0-0) on Wednesday afternoon behind solid performances in both doubles and singles competition from Blue Hose players.

DOUBLES
Lander quickly earned a 6-1 win at the No. 2 doubles position, but Presbyterian's
Claudia Sanchez and
Valentina De Sousa followed up at the No. 1 doubles slot, defeating Lander's Evelyn Altmaier and Bailee Martin 6-3.

The doubles point was left in the hands of
M.C. Dailey and
Mary Ellen Longmire, at the No. 3 spot, who defeated the Bearcat's Fe Batoon and Becca Latty 6-4, securing the doubles point for the Blue Hose.
SINGLES
Dailey quickly defeated Lander's Anna Grubbs 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 6 singles position, earning Presbyterian the first singles point. Longmire was the next to finish, taking down her opponent Micaela Pallete 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 5 slot. Lander took their only point at the No. 2 singles position, setting the score at 3-1 in favor of the Blue Hose.

Elle Sceney gave PC their winning point at the No. 4 position, defeating Hannah Panchal 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).
Claudia Sanchez and
Valentina De Sousa rounded out the Blue Hose's scoring, both defeating their opponents in three-set thrillers.

The Blue Hose stay on the road for a pair of matches on Friday, competing against Belmont Abbey at 10:00 a.m. before facing the host team, Queens at 1:00 p.m.
