CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After picking up their first win of the season against Lander on Wednesday, the Presbyterian College women's tennis team (2-5) made the trip to Charlotte on Friday for a pair of matches against Queens (0-2) and Belmont Abbey (1-0).

MATCH #1 – Presbyterian 4, Queens 0
DOUBLES
Queens forfeited at the No. 3 doubles position, giving Presbyterian an early advantage. Presbyterian's
McKenzie Davis and
Madison Dennett defeated the Royal's Lucy Hogan and Andreea Onitoiu 6-4 at the No. 1 doubles slot, claiming the doubles point.

SINGLES
Queens was forced to forfeit at the No. 5 and 6 singles positions, bringing PC's lead to 3-0. Dennett competed at the No. 4 singles position where she took down Queens' Serb 6-2, 6-0 to complete the 4-0 sweep for the Blue Hose. Davis was leading 6-4, 1-3 at the No. 1 slot and
Valentina De Sousa was winning 6-3, 3-0 at the No. 2 position at the conclusion of the match.

MATCH #2 – Belmont Abbey 4, Presbyterian 3
DOUBLES
Belmont Abbey won the doubles point after seeing a 6-3 win at the No. 1 position and a victory due to injury at the No. 2 slot while PC led 5-4.
Mary Ellen Longmire and
M.C. Dailey defeated Belmont Abbey's Daniella Galeano and Davis McSwain 6-4 at the No. 3 position.

SINGLES
The Crusaders quickly extended their lead to 2-0 after winning at the No. 3 singles position due to injury. Longmire took down her opponent, Paola Socarras, at the No. 5 slot 6-0, 6-3.
Valentina De Sousa saw victory at the No. 2 singles position over the Crusader's Mackenzie McCarthy 6-2, 6-1, tying the score at two points apiece. Belmont Abbey was then able to secure wins at the No. 6 and 4 singles positions, earning their fourth point to secure the win.
McKenzie Davis closed out the day with a nail-biting fight at the No. 1 slot, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-8).
