CLINTON, S.C. – The ninth and last match at Martin Stadium for the Presbyterian College women's soccer team is on tap for Friday evening, as the Blue Hose battle Winthrop in another 7:00 start.
ESPN+ will be streaming tomorrow's match as PC makes one final push for a Big South Tournament bid, faced with Winthrop and Charleston Southern as the remaining two regular-season duels.
This will be the first Presbyterian match in nine days after a hard-fought defeat against USC Upstate last week, expecting another tight contest akin to last year's 2-2 tie versus the Eagles.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- Winthrop seems to be peaking at the right time as each Big South squad tries to cement a postseason spot, beating Longwood and Radford in back-to-back one-point decisions.
- The Eagles doubled their win count from the rest of the season with those two wins, beating the Lancers in Virginia with a 79
th-minute penalty kick and out-gunning the Highlanders 3-2 over the weekend.
- Either a tie or an outright loss was the result of Winthrop's last nine games before their fortunes reversed, gaining two goals in less than 10 minutes against Radford and eventually holding on.
- It was a wacky evening when Presbyterian last faced off against Winthrop, as PC led 2-0 with 14 minutes on the clock only to end in a draw. The game-tying score came with exactly 60 seconds to go.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Blue Hose started fast against last season's league champs with a 2-1 halftime edge thanks to quick strikes by team-leader
Lindsey Malyszek and true freshman
Maddi Merryweather's first career goal.
- Unfortunately, the Spartans surged back in the picture and ultimately won the match at the 72:08 mark. It was the fifth game of the fall involving PC to be decided by a single point.
- Sophomore
Allie Williams dished out her fifth assist of the year in the opening half, more than any other player in the Big South at this stage of the season.
SPEES RECORD WATCH
- With a minimum of two games left in her storied college career, senior forward
Sloan Spees needs just one more goal to become PC's D-I record-holder in that category.
- She put in her 16
th score in a one-nil victory over Alabama A&M back in September, tying her with Sara Simpson who established the school record 12 years ago.
- Spees is one of seven Blue Hose with at least one point this semester, assisting on Merryweather's score in the first half of the Upstate game.
