Three Second Half Goals Give Blue Hose A Senior Day Win Over Radford

CLINTON, S.C.  – Behind a second-half three-goal offensive explosion, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (6-6-5, Big South: 3-2-1) rallied past the Radford Highlanders (2-10-3, Big South: 1-4-1) for a 3-2 win on senior day in Martin Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Before the game, the Blue Hose honored seniors: Tim Baerwalde, Steven Cordova, Max Falconer, Iragi Kalala, and Rivers Krask.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the 22nd minute, Radford's Lukas Kuka scored the game's first goal.
  • In the 60th minute, Presbyterian's AJ Acree beat a few Radford defenders down the left side of the box. Acree crossed the ball toward the far right post. Gabe Carvalho ran onto the cross and blasted the ball into the back of the net for his first career goal, tying the score at one.
  • In the 70th minute, Presbyterian's Aloni Elfu, with some fancy maneuvering inside the box, found Kalala just outside the six-yard box. Kalala blasted the ball into the lower left corner of the goal, giving the Blue Hose a 2-1 lead. Kalala's goal was his fourth of the season.
  • In the 80th minute, Cordova sent a corner kick from the right corner to Bryce Burdette just outside the left post. Burdette headed the ball to Thomas Stofring, who was just outside the six-yard box near the right post. Stofring blasted a volley into the back of the net for his first goal of the season, giving the Blue Hose a 3-1 lead.
