FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team sit in second place through 36 holes at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate, hosted by USC Upstate at Ocean Greek GC. As a team, the Blue Hose improved by two shots and are eight clear of third place after recording a second round score of 308. Overall, Presbyterian is +42 for the tournament, 19 strokes back of the leader Charleston Southern.
Maddie Peake followed her 74 on Saturday with a 77 on Sunday (Nov. 2) to sit in third place for the tournament.
NOTABLES
- Peake carded two birdies and 11 pars en route to shooting a 77 in the second round. She played holes three through 15 at just +1. She is currently +7 for the tournament through two days, sitting four shots back of second place and eight shots back of the leader.
- Sloane Spessard remained in the top 10 following the second round with a 79. She made two birdies on the front nine to be in a tie for ninth going into the final round.
- Addy Parker improved her score by 10 shots from the first round, firing a 74 to shoot the round of the day for the Blue Hose. She jumped into a tie for 13th place. She made four birdies on the day, including three in a four hole stretch. After going out in 38, she came back in with a -1 par 36 on the back nine.
- Taylor Reaves and Emma Louise Hunt also are tied with Parker in 13th place. Reaves improved her score by two shots to card a 78 in round two. On the day, she made a total of 14 pars. Hunt stayed consistent, shooting 79 for the second consecutive day. Like Reaves, Hunt also carded 14 pars. Individually, Gabi Carles rounded out the Blue Hose with an 88 in the second round.
