Hudson’s Double-Double Leads Four Double-Figure Scorers in Blue Hose Rout of CIU

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (4-5), behind four double-figure scorers led by Khalon Hudson's double-double, cruised past the CIU Rams, 93-50, in the Templeton Center on Wednesday afternoon.  
 
Hudson scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jonah Pierce, Jaylen Peterson, and Iverson King rounded out Presbyterian's double-figure scorers with 13 points apiece.
 
Behind the scoring of Hudson and King, the Blue Hose's bench scored 51 points. Presbyterian also tied its season-high with 50 points in the paint.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Presbyterian scored the game's first five points after a three-pointer from Carl Parrish and a layup from Peterson. After another basket inside from Peterson, the Blue Hose held a 9-2 lead five minutes into the game. With 12:51 on the clock, a dunk from Parrish gave the Blue Hose a 13-point lead, 18-5.  CIU scored nine of the next 13 points, cutting Presbyterian's lead to 22-14 with 10:13 on the clock. Presbyterian went on a 7-0 run, pushing their lead to 29-14 after baskets from JD Bowden and Hudson and three from King. With four minutes left in the half, CIU had cut PC's lead to 30-22. Presbyterian outscored CIU, 13-5 over the final four minutes of the half, taking a 42-27 lead into the locker room.
 

SECOND HALF 
– Early in the second half, the teams exchanged baskets. With Presbyterian leading 45-31, the Blue Hose behind four points from Hudson, and a hook shot from Pierce, scored six straight points, pushing their lead to 51-31. With 10 minutes on the clock, King connected on a three from the wing, giving the Blue Hose a 32-point lead. With 5:51 left in the half, Pierce's dunk put Presbyterian in front 76-36. Presbyterian would score the final eight points of the game to close out the 93-50 home win.
 

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • Hudson's double-double was the first of his Presbyterian career. This was PC's third double-double of the season.
  • Pierce's 13 points marked his eighth double-digit scoring game of the season and the 23rd of his career.
  • Peterson recorded his third double-figure scoring game of the season and the seventh of his career.
  • King's 13 points marked his first double-figure scoring output of the season and the ninth of his career.
  • Presbyterian's 51 bench points marked the Blue Hose's most points off the bench since November 6, 2024.
  • Ten Presbyterian players scored at least two points and grabbed at least one rebound in the game.
