PC Football Sets New School Record with 11 All-Conference Picks

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Presbyterian College football team has established a new all-time high in its 113-year history, claiming 11 all-conference selections for the first time as part of Tuesday afternoon's Pioneer Football League announcement.

PFL Coach of the Year, Eddie Robinson Award finalist, and AFCA Region 4 Coach of the Year Steve Englehart led the Blue Hose to a 10-win campaign for the third occasion in school history, rising as far as #16 in the national polls.

For the second straight season, Presbyterian earned six All-PFL First Team accolades: quarterback Collin Hurst (who was also the 2025 PFL Offensive Player of the Year), wide receiver Cincere Gill, tight end Nathan Levicki, defensive lineman Carter Szydlowski, linebacker Boyce Bankhead, and defensive back Caleb Francis.

Additionally, PC registered five All-PFL second-teamers: running back Justin Montgomery, all-purpose back Zach Switzer, offensive lineman JT Hill, defensive lineman Robert Porter, and freshman defensive back Camron Barber.

That is enough to better the previous school record for most all-league selections (10) which was established in 1987 when PC was a member of the South Atlantic Conference.

The 2024 and 2025 Blue Hose football teams are now tied with each other for the third-most players on an All-Conference First Team list. The record of eight first-teamers in 1979 still stands, as does the 2005 squad's achievement of seven first-team nods.

#PullTheRope

- Presbyterian saw its most noteworthy season of the Division I era (2007 onward), beginning the campaign with a 7-0 record and extending their school-record winning streak all the way to 11 games.

- Coach Englehart's crew climbed to #16 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, the highest of any Pioneer League institution since 2009. They were one of the final eight undefeated teams at the FCS level and became the last D-I university in the state of South Carolina to take a loss.

- The Blue Hose completed a full 365-day period without a single L, eventually grabbing their first 10-win season in 20 years and never losing inside Bailey Memorial Stadium in six attempts.

- Drake was awarded the PFL's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs, leaving PC as one of the "First Four Out" in the field of 24. Presbyterian has a better record than 14 of the 16 schools that garnered an at-large bid for the first round.

COLLIN HURST | Quarterback
R-So. | 5'10" | 185 lbs. | Davie, Fla.
2025 PFL Offensive Player of the Year
2025 All-PFL First Team
2025 Walter Payton Award Top-30 Finalist
2024 PFL Offensive Freshman of the Year
2024 Phil Steele Freshman All-America
2024 Jerry Rice Award Top-5 Finalist

Hurst All-Conference

- Hurst has collected a 16-5 personal record as the Blue Hose starting quarterback, improving on his statistics from the prior year that garnered him national attention: 197-for-289 (68 percent), 2,684 passing yards, and 26 passing touchdowns.

- His QB efficiency rating of 168.3 is the seventh-most of any FCS signal-caller, and his 26 passing TD's rank sixth in the country.

- The Floridian threw for a career-high five touchdowns in a 21-point overtime comeback thriller at Furman and passed for a season-best 343 yards against Erskine which netted him PFL Offensive Player of the Week plaudits.

- Hurst has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 13 consecutive appearances dating back to last year, going on two separate streaks of 135 and 98 passes in a row without an interception.

CINCERE GILL | Wide Receiver
Sr. | 6'1" | 175 lbs. | Foxboro, Mass.
2025 All-PFL First Team
2024 All-PFL Second Team

Gill All-Conference

- Gill emerged as PC's most dangerous big-play threat in a fantastic final bow, ranking fifth in the nation with an average of 21 yards per reception and ending the season with 33 catches for 705 yards.

- He led the Blue Hose in receiving touchdowns (7) despite missing two games due to a seemingly season-ending injury. Gill would make an unlikely return to the field, catching six balls for 103 yards in two appearances after the scare.

- Eclipsing 1,200 total receiving yards over the last two years, Gill passed the century mark three times in 2025, including back-to-back conference matchups versus Stetson and Dayton.

NATHAN LEVICKI | Tight End
Sr. | 6'3" | 235 lbs. | Annapolis, Md.
2025 All-PFL First Team

Levicki All-Conference

- Levicki similarly enjoyed a career-best campaign, ensuring that PC has featured an all-conference first-team tight end in three straight years (following in Worth Warner's footsteps). He ranked sixth in the PFL with nine total touchdowns (six receiving, three rushing).

- A product of Maryland, he logged 34 receptions for 471 yards as a senior. During the aforementioned Furman upset, he caught six passes for 60 yards and was on the receiving end of both an overtime touchdown and the game-winning two-point conversion.

- Levicki is also responsible for Presby's longest passing play of the year: a 75-yard sprint midway through the 4th quarter of the six-point victory at Butler, preserving the undefeated record at the time.

CARTER SZYDLOWSKI | Defensive Line
Sr. | 6'3" | 270 lbs. | Mount Pleasant, Tenn.
2025 All-PFL First Team
2024 All-PFL First Team

Szydlowski All-Conference

- The PFL's Defensive Player of the Week after helping defeat then-#23 Butler in last season's finale, Szydlowski again led the Blue Hose in tackles-for-a-loss (10) while contributing four sacks and two fumble recoveries.

- The Tennesseean tormented Butler again as a senior in Indy, notching a season-best seven stops along with 1.5 sacks and three TFL's. Eight of his 10 tackles-for-a-loss happened against conference opponents.

- Szydlowski is one of just 12 players nationwide to have two fumble recoveries this season, ending his PC career ranking third in school history with 11.5 sacks.

BOYCE BANKHEAD | Linebacker
Sr. | 6'2" | 218 lbs. | Columbia, S.C.
2025 All-PFL First Team

Bankhead All-Conference

- Perhaps no player on Presby's roster saw a more dramatic uptick than Bankhead, leading the entire team and ranking third in the conference with 90 total tackles.

- He added 5.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and three sacks, hitting his stride with at least 10 tackles in four consecutive PFL encounters during the midway point of the season.

- One of four players in the league to average eight tackles per game, Bankhead posted at least one TFL in each of his final five games while also forcing two fumbles against Davidson and Marist.

CALEB FRANCIS | Defensive Back
Sr. | 6'2" | 195 lbs.| Jacksonville, Fla.
2025 All-PFL First Team
2024 All-PFL First Team

Francis All-Conference

- No player in PC's 18-year Division I history has more interceptions than two-time all-league first-teamer Francis, who picked off five passes this fall to give him 10 altogether.

- The Jacksonville product had the second-highest number of INT's in the Pioneer Football League, beating out Big South Hall of Famer Justin Bethel for the Blue Hose career-interception record.

- Francis was named the PFL Defensive Player of the Week after a 41-0 shutout over Morehead State in the conference opener at Bailey Stadium, picking off two passes (one of which was in the end zone to punctuate a 4th-down goal line stand).

JUSTIN MONTGOMERY | Running Back
So. | 5'10" | 195 lbs. | Davie, Fla.
2025 All-PFL Second Team

Montgomery All-Conference

- Montgomery was one of the biggest breakouts for an offensive unit that ran for a school-record 2,124 yards. He averaged six yards-per-carry on 126 touches, finding the end zone seven times.

- Hailing from the same town in Florida as Hurst, he reached 783 all-purpose yards and hit the century mark for the first time during the aforementioned Morehead State mauling.

- During a 28-point win on Homecoming against Stetson, Montgomery became the first Blue Hose rusher since 2017 to tally three rushing touchdowns on the same day in front of a record-setting Bailey Stadium audience of 7,500+.

ZACH SWITZER | All-Purpose Back
Sr. | 5'11" | 190 lbs. | Spring Hill, Tenn.
2025 All-PFL Second Team
2024 All-PFL First Team

Switzer All-Conference

- A major threat in the running game, pass attack, and special teams assignments, Switzer is now PC's new single-season record-holder with 1,458 all-purpose yards across his senior stint.

- That number is good enough to stand inside the top 20 nationwide, going for 814 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns.

- His six yards-per-carry are also inside the FCS top 20, rushing for a career-high 158 yards in the Morehead win while racking up three TD's. Switzer crossed the goal line eight times in a three-game window during the 7-0 start.

JT HILL | Offensive Line
Jr. | 6'4" | 320 lbs. | Loganville, Ga.
2025 All-PFL Second Team

Hill All-Conference

- Hill is an early graduate at Presbyterian and is also one of the most seasoned linemen on Englehart's core. He started all but one game at the left tackle spot and blocked for an offense that lined up at least 180 rushing yards five times.

- With Hill's aid, the Blue Hose toppled 5,000 yards of total offense (seven games of at least 400). PC also passed for a minimum of 250 yards against six separate foes.

- In the first two contests in Clinton (versus Erskine and Bluefield), the Scotsmen stockpiled 1,116 total yards.

ROBERT PORTER | Defensive Line
Sr. | 6'2" | 293 lbs. | Livermore, Calif.
2025 All-PFL Second Team

Porter All-Conference

- Porter is another individual who has seen an uptick in stats with each passing year, going for 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five TFL's over his final year with the program.

- The Californian had at least one stop behind the line of scrimmage in four consecutive conference outings, tackling a season-high seven ball-carriers at Dayton.

- He also blocked a PAT attempt during the clutch win over Butler, adding four quarterback pressures to his personal stat line.

CAMRON BARBER | Defensive Back
Fr. | 5'10" | 170 lbs. | Atlanta, Ga.
2025 All-PFL Second Team

Barber All-Conference

- Barber becomes the second player of the Englehart administration and the first since Dominic Kibby in 2022 to land a spot on the All-PFL roster as a true freshman.

- Never missing a start at the cornerback position and ranking sixth on the team with 43 tackles, the Atlanta native had eight pass breakups (#5 in the conference for that category).

- He found a season-high eight tackles in the Butler W, while also deflecting three passes in a crucial road triumph over St. Thomas. Barber forced a fumble during a 73-point win against Bluefield.
