CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (3-9) fell to the UNCW Seahawks (1-1) at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.
DOUBLES
McKenzie Davis and
Mary Ellen Longmire took down UNCW's Anna Parker Shumate and Lucia Gomez at the number three doubles position as the first completed game of the day. The Seahawks followed up with doubles wins at the number one and two slots, claiming the doubles point.
SINGLES
UNCW took the first pair of singles wins at the number five and six positions to take an early 3-0 lead.
Valentina De Sousa grabbed the Blue Hose's first point, taking down the Seahawks Katelyn Hubbard 6-4, 6-3 at the number three singles position.
Claudia Sanchez followed up with a victory at the number one singles slot, defeating UNCW's Stela Joksimovic 7-5, 6-4. The Seahawks went on to take wins at the number two and four singles positions, claiming the 5-2 win over PC.
