ASHEVILLE, N.C.  – Behind a stingy defensive performance and three double-figure scorers, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (13-17, Big South: 6-9) beat the UNC Asheville Bulldogs (20-9, Big South: 11-4), 64-59, for their third straight road win on Wednesday night. Presbyterian handed UNC Asheville its first home loss of the season.

Kory Mincy scored 21 points while dishing out four assists.
Kobe Stewart recorded 13 points while grabbing six rebounds.
Carl Parrish scored 10 points off the bench.
Kaleb Scott scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Presbyterian limited UNC Asheville, who entered the game averaging 83.4 points per game, to 59 points and 4.5 percent (1-for-22) shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – The Bulldogs scored the game's first eight points. Stewart got the Blue Hose on the board with a three. With UNC Asheville leading 18-6 with 11:48 on the clock, the Blue Hose went on a 14-2 scoring run, tying the score at 20 after a pull-up jumper in the lane by Parrish with 6:07 on the clock.  Mincy scored six points during that stretch. Jamahri Harvey also scored during the run. UNC Asheville scored four straight points, regaining the lead. A three from Parrish and a hook shot in the lane from Stewart pushed the Blue Hose in front for the first time, 25-24, with 3:26 left in the half. Presbyterian took a 28-27 lead into the locker room at the half. Â

SECOND HALF – Behind a layup from Scott and a three from Mincy, the Blue Hose scored the first five points of the half. Then, UNC Asheville went on a 10-0 scoring run, taking a 37-33 lead with 16:46 on the clock. Back-to-back threes from
Quadir Pettaway and Harvey put the Blue Hose back in front, 39-37. The Bulldogs tied the score at 39. The game would be tied a couple of times, with several lead changes over the next nine minutes. With UNC Asheville leading 50-47, Presbyterian's Parrish knocked down a three from the top of the key, tying the score, and then Scott converted on a hook shot in the paint, giving the Blue Hose the lead for good with five minutes remaining. UNC Asheville would cut PC's lead to one point several times. With Presbyterian leading 56-55, two straight baskets from Stewart and two free throws from Mincy gave Presbyterian a 62-55 lead with 27 ticks on the clock. A couple of free throws from Parrish in the closing seconds closed out Presbyterian's road win.

- Stewart tallied his 25th double-figure scoring game of the season and the 46th of his career with his 13-point scoring output.
