CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (5-6) split Saturday's seven-inning doubleheader against Eastern Michigan (4-5), securing a 5-2 victory in game one before falling 5-3 in the second matchup.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE: PC 5, EMU 2
- The Eagles got on the board early, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning.
- After three scoreless frames, the Blue Hose responded in the bottom of the fifth. 
Eli Lazio's RBI single put PC on the board, followed by 
Trey Fenderson's heads-up baserunning, which allowed him to score from third base when the catcher attempted to throw out a runner at second.
- Presbyterian took control in the sixth, adding three more runs. 
Amman Dewberry led off with a double, and 
Cam Mallo's RBI single brought him home. 
Evan Cuervo then launched a two-run homer, giving PC a 5-2 lead.
- 
Jacob Fields closed out the game in the seventh, keeping EMU off the board to seal the win.
 
GAME ONE NOTABLES
- 
Evan Cuervo's sixth-inning home run marked his first of the season.
- 
Trey Fenderson recorded his third double of the year in the first inning.
- 
Amman Dewberry notched his first double of the season in the sixth.
- 
Tristan McGregor pitched the first four innings, tallying five strikeouts while allowing just four hits and no earned runs.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO: PC 3, EMU 5
- Presbyterian struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when 
Evan Cuervo's RBI single brought 
Andrew Albertus home.
- After two scoreless innings, PC extended their lead in the fourth. 
Brody Linker was hit by a pitch, then stole both second and third. 
Ryan Becker followed with an RBI, scoring Albertus for a 2-0 advantage.
- Eastern Michigan answered with a big fifth inning, plating five runs to take a 5-2 lead.
- The Blue Hose got one back in the bottom of the fifth when 
Matthew Rollison's sacrifice fly made it 5-3, but they couldn't close the gap as EMU held on for the win.
 
GAME TWO NOTABLES
- 
Andrew Albertus swiped two bases, while 
Brody Linker stole three.
- 
Michael Marroquin Jr. started on the mound, throwing four innings with five strikeouts and allowing just three hits and no runs.
